“What comes up must come down”. It is a phrase which is thrown around a lot these days, and for most of the time, it is definitely true. There is however, no such finer example than the well known Need For Speed franchise. From street racing to police pursuits and even dabbling in off-road racing, the series has progressed and changed its direction and theme over its almost decade and a half history, spanning 16 titles to date. What began as a simple racer trying to offer gamers a realistic driving experience in The Need For Speed, the franchise has been hailed as one of the greatest racing series to date, but unfortunately, has also been recently referred to as one of the worst.

FROM SOFTWORKS’s Chromehounds was the first of the Xbox 360′s few mech/action games. The mechs, or HOUNDS if you want to get technical, are massive, lumbering machines that decimate anything in their path with a huge array of weaponry.

Off of the battlefield you’ll be in the garage, this is probably where you’ll spend most of your time. In the garage you’ll be switching weapons or strengthening your defenses. If you don’t like how your mech functions simply delete it and start from the ground up; unlike most mech games where you can only choose your legs, body, arms, head, and weapons, in Chromehounds you are no longer held to those restrictions since your mech doesn’t need to resemble a human at all. I’ll cover all of that in a minute, but first let’s start with single player.

“Interactive Art” is what the creators of Linger in Shadows label this experience as and never before has a term been applied better than in this case.  Linger in Shadows has minimal gameplay,  no story, or length for that matter.  It is a six minute long movie with certain pauses for puzzles.  The puzzles are not that long and always end in an explosion followed by the next section of the movie.  The first one of these really surprised me because I didn’t know what I did, the screen just exploded and moved on.  The “game” is very unique and anyone interested in art (which if you play videogames you should be) should really check this out. Especially for the price there is no excuse to not give this a shot.

So lately for some unheard of reason the internet has been bashing Sony’s name, claiming that the Playstation 3 is dying, and that Sony has ruined the console. Sound familiar to any one? Wasn’t this the same thing we heard for the first 6 months after launch? In my opionion these claims are completely unfounded. There is nothing at all that shows any sign of Playstation 3 growth stoppage and here’s why.
