six days in fallujah1 Insurgents lent hand to Six Days in Fallujah

Atomic Games’ upcoming Six Days in Fallujah has been developed with input not only from the US Marines who fought in the eponymous Iraqi city, but from the insurgents opposing them, Kotaku reports.

Voicing his team’s overriding concern for factual accuracy, company president Peter Tamte has stressed that a truly faithful portrayal of events necessarily demands that they consider the perspectives of all three of the groups affected by them.’ Certainly the Marines, certainly the Iraqi civilians within Fallujah, and the insurgents as well. We are actually getting contributions from all three of those communities so that we can get the kind of insight we’re trying to get.’

eat360 Sunday Soapbox: Melts In Your Mouth...

As with any day in your life, you become hungry at some point.  Commonly you’re hungry right in the morning, which you satiate with 3 ½ bowls of Lucky Charms, then again at lunch with last night’s leftovers, then again at dinner time.  However, what happens when you have a game controller gripped firmly in your hands when you feel the rumble pack in your stomach start going crazy?  This is my plea for more foods to be made with us gamers in mind. buster busts loose box art Retro Reunion: Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose

That box-art is too cute. Any child growing up when Tiny Toon Adventures was at it’s prime very much remembers this very colorful show, and high profile movie. Much like Animaniacs (which is yet another classic SNES platformer), Tiny Toon Adventures wasn’t afraid of parodying mature themes despite it’s childhood demographic. It was only a matter of time until a high profile developer picked up this property, and turned it into a classic. Read more… »

sandbox14 Sunday Soapbox: Playing in the Sandbox

What does a high school bully, Spider-Man, a crime boss, and an immigrant all have in common? Not very much at all. If anything, the only similarity between them is that they all appear in sandbox titles ranging from “okay” to “extremely successful”. Bully: Scholarship Edition, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Godfather II, and Grand Theft Auto IV are the top title in their style for the past couple of years, but why only these?
