    Got any kiwis?

And honestly, can you blame the man for what was, if anything, a less ridiculous post than the one he was replying to? I’m certain that most writers would have retired to a mental institution by now if they tried taking absolutely everything people said seriously.

I’m not certain what I can add to what Dennis said here. As far as I know, people are complaining because they either want the product and can’t stomach the price, or they think Microsoft is trying to bullshit them. I have to admit to falling in the latter category. Adding $150 to an already [...]

“Made in spite of all the times Ryan Carrier Rushed me while I was learning how to play.” I know the feeling, you just have to wonder where your opponent gets the victory fleet anyway. Fun video despite the Protoss being cheap bastards.

As someone that studies a lot of economic theory, for the most part I agree with you on the effects of copyright infringement (the proper term for piracy). Nevertheless, I am amazed at the potential cost of this game especially when, as you said, the focus seems to be on the multiplayer. I have to [...]

Uh … sure? As long as we don’t get an Okami title every year …

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post When worlds collide! Street Fighter X Tekken announced   5 days, 9 hours ago · View

Doesn’t catch my interest. Not because of the franchise, or because of the genre. It’s because it seems a bit silly to get two games with Street Fighter characters within such a short time, and I’ve already settled on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for that particular niche.

    Looks interesting, though.

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post EA: Activision stories haven’t been very positive   5 days, 9 hours ago · View

While admittedly Activision isn’t doing much to deserve gamers’ respect (I for one am still mildly annoyed at their StarCraft II pricing decision), it’s hard to take anything EA says at face value. The publishers take shots at each other constantly, and this isn’t too far out of the ordinary. For example, while EA may accuse [...]

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post What Are YOU Playing? Swarm Them Aliens Edition   1 week ago · View

Still mostly Killing Floor , I’m amazed at how much fun I’m having with that game. I’d like to be playing more Left 4 Dead 2 (despite my tendency to repeatedly die in the finale), but most friends-only games are planned in a group’s Steam chat, and it’s hard to avoid the local trolls while in there. So [...]

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post Zombies have my heart, but they can’t have my brains   1 week, 1 day ago · View

It’s funny you bring this up, I was just thinking about zombie first-person shooters. A couple weeks ago with the massive Steam sale I found myself in possession of both Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead 2 , two games that are thematically similar but play completely differently. I most definitely prefer the former. Why? Because in Killing Floor [...]

  • I literally just saw this posted over on another forum.

Dammit, Activision-Blizzard, I’m still not paying a full $60 for this when that volume of cash could go elsewhere, but you’re certainly packing in every bit of value the price suggests!

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post Microsoft confirms Kinect price for both US and Europe   1 week, 3 days ago · View

Ow, that looks like it could hurt. It’s especially bad if you assume they’re targeting either the “casual” market or a new group of gamers entirely, which pushes the price even higher with the addition of the 360 console itself. I can see this selling to diehard 360 users, but it doesn’t look like a [...]

Hopefully the Steam version will also receive this update.

Also, am I the only one who is getting strong L4D vibes from this news?

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post We Need to Talk: Which Game Genre Needs a Makeover?   2 weeks ago · View

I’m not certain how much story you can fit into a game where the basic premise is arena-style combat, unless you go for the intentionally silly (kind of like Team Fortress 2 did). The fighting game as it is seems to work fine. My pick for a genre reboot would be the adventure or action-adventure genres. [...]

Ask them to do anything for money, because it’s likely that they are the types of dodgy guys that would. We’re a different breed down here.

I doubt this. I very much doubt this.

  • Honestly, I’m kind of in a unique situation here when it comes to this debate: I didn’t start console gaming until the Wii was firmly established and have more hours with the Remote-Nunchuk combo than any traditional controller. Why people are so antagonistic about motion-control systems and new or larger demographics is something I don’t really [...]

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post Violent videogame dispute continues in California   2 weeks, 3 days ago · View

Passing the law would essentially place video games in a separate category from movies, books and other media, when it comes to free speech. This isn’t technically the case as I understand it. There’s already restrictions on theaters about what they can show, with R-rated films requiring ID to be shown. There’s also some fairly stringent [...]

Mostly Killing Floor. Totally worth the five dollars.

And I’ll kick YOUR ass in Team Fortress 2.

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post New Blizzard forum policy shows your real name   3 weeks, 2 days ago · View

Well, as far as using your real name, we already (unofficially) do that here at Gamer Limit. The concern I’ve heard voiced, however, is something that I’ve unfortunately seen on YouTube and might very well see on the Blizzard forums. People won’t have a problem if their name is, say, Mark Davis, but what if [...]

  • Carl Anderson commented on the blog post Bayonetta: Brilliant Satire?

I’m fairly confident that the director, whose work I’m fairly familiar with, did most of this intentionally. Yeah, the story edges into PWP territory (look it up on TV Tropes), but if you look closely the amount of detail hidden for almost no apparent purpose is more suggestive of a carefully crafted running joke. The [...]
