What are some essential art supplies for a manga artist?
For ink, a lot of people like Microns or similar pens. I like using a small, round, sable water color brush and a bottle of waterproof india ink. I use Dr. Martin's hicarb ink, but I'm not sure was is or isn't available to you, as I'm all the way in the US. I also use a nib pen, which is like the old fashioned quill pens with the metal tip you dip in the ink. Brush/nib is a bit harder to use than microns (not by much) but they give you much more varied and smooth lines when you get the hang of them.
For paper, definitely bristol. It's a nice thick paper that won't wrinkle, and your inks won't smudge or bleed. It comes in pads in varying sizes, in smooth or vellum (textured). Smooth is a bit better for inked work. I use Strathmore brand, but again, not sure what you have available to you. If you have some kind of art supply store near you, they could probably help you out better with the specifics than I can.
