Default Left 4 Dead: Auto Shotgun, Assault Rifle or Hunting Rifle

I pretty much live and die by the M4, and I like to play around with the Hunting Rifle too. I despise the Auto shotgun and only play it when teammates hound me about using the shotgun in a particular situation. Just wanted to see what everyone's preferred weapon of choice is.

Def. the M4, although if the tank is coming (survival mode) and the shotgun is close I'll pick it up and empty a round into the tank.

Yeah, I agree. In survival mode, there is just way too much being thrown at you and when that tank is inches away, the shotgun is ultimate.

I used to be a big auto shottie guy, but then I fell in love with the red misty headshots that the M4 can produce. However, I think that the shotgun is probably the best "panic" weapon available.

You need a mixture if you want to survive on Expert. Two with the M4 for medium-long distance kills, two with the auto-shotty when you need to get up close and personal.

The hunting rifle is the best weapon for taking out smokers and the other specials from a distance, but anyone with decent aim can do the same with the M4.

The "2 and 2" rule is especially true in most of the survival levels.

    Auto Shotgun. I love it.

The shotgun reloads so pathetically, whereas with the M4 one combat attack and you're back to 50 bullets
