The idea of death of killers, cloaked in shadows and claiming souls for the underworld, is almost revered. I mean, look at ninjas. That’s all I can say. Ubisoft gave the world a big shiver of glee when they announced their new project, Assassin’s Creed, where you could be this person. As time went on, the game became more and more amazing looking, promising a free-roaming world and flowing combat. What we got was just that.

Fallout 3 Review
By: | December 30th, 2008

fallout3

A brief stint with Fallout 3 gives the impression that it’s merely The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, albeit with guns and science fiction instead of high fantasy. The game runs on the same engine as the 2006 RPG sensation meaning that on a technical level, Oblivion’s strengths and weaknesses also ring true for this game. However, once you look past the graphical and technical issues, Fallout’s real strength appears in droves. Fallout 3 offers a world we’ve never seen before, characters we’ve ever interacted with and an experience completely and utterly its own.

I was surfing the Playstation Network when I discovered a little treat, there is a demo up for a game I am particularly looking forward to next year. Lord of the Rings: Conquest is an action game made by Pandemic Studios (the guys behind the Star Wars Battlefront games). If you haven’t ever played one of those games, they take a different approach to licensed games by having you play the everyday foot soldiers in the big epic battles instead of the heroes we all know and love.

Chromehounds Review
By: | December 24th, 2008

ch00239

FROM SOFTWORKS’s Chromehounds was the first of the Xbox 360′s few mech/action games. The mechs, or HOUNDS if you want to get technical, are massive, lumbering machines that decimate anything in their path with a huge array of weaponry.

Off of the battlefield you’ll be in the garage, this is probably where you’ll spend most of your time. In the garage you’ll be switching weapons or strengthening your defenses. If you don’t like how your mech functions simply delete it and start from the ground up; unlike most mech games where you can only choose your legs, body, arms, head, and weapons, in Chromehounds you are no longer held to those restrictions since your mech doesn’t need to resemble a human at all. I’ll cover all of that in a minute, but first let’s start with single player.
