EVE Online Rap

You might not have ever heard of the developer Crowd Control Productions, typically referred to as CCP, but I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of their cult hit Eve Online.  The company started out small in 1997, as the brain child of three men from Iceland, and has since grown to include offices in the UK, US, and China.

Apparently those crazy guys from CCP don’t have enough work on their hands trying to keep the citizens of EVE Online happy, so they decided to create a rap video for the game’s community.  Create by and starring most of the people from the company, this is easily one of the most incredible developer videos ever created.

Because the video includes swearing I’m including it after the jump, but whether you are a fan of the game or not, you need to check this out. Read more… »

In conjunction with a new episode which resumes the 13th series, Microsoft are to release South Park: Let’s Go Tower Defense Play! tomorrow on October 7th.

The budget XBLA title features all of the iconic central characters and the usual anarchy you have come to expect from the foul mouthed show, through strategic tower defense gameplay as the title may suggest. The game will cost 800 Microsoft points, but you can taste the game yourself from the video posted above.

As a fan of the series, it’s reassuring to see a new game adaptation considering we haven’t had one in 10 years. South Park Rally anyone?

Not so long ago, you may remember the outstanding promotional video for the new Ferrari which did a very good job of getting me excited for the eventual release of Gran Turismo 5. But now it’s Toyota’s turn, as GT5‘s latest teaser video stars the newly unveiled FT-86 concept car.

It doesn’t quite match the cinematography of the aforementioned Ferrari video, but it does reveal a couple of new fine details about the final product. For instance, did you notice that in some shots the driver’s face can be seen without a racing helmet?

Also, unlike the previous video, we get a sample of the game’s audio – I hope the engine and tyre screech sounds that were featured here turn out to be in the final game as they are far superior to that of Prologue’s.

The new Modern Warfare 2 trailer premiered tonight on U.S. television during the San Diego Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers football game.  As expected, the gameplay footage looks absolutely gorgeous and is filled with lots of high tech death and destruction.  What isn’t expected is the geographic locations the trailer takes place in.

I don’t want to ruin it for you, because the end of the video contains a huge surprise that is sure to knock you off your feet.  All I have to say is that Infinity Ward continues to impress, even with a game that was gauranteed to sell 10 million copies the minute it was announced.

Read on to view some high quality pictures from the trailer. Read more… »

Today is a landmark day in the history of video games.  For the first time ever a major video game company is releasing a system that is based purely off of digital distribution.  I am of course talking about the new Sony PSPgo.

To help celebrate this momentous occasion, I have created a video of me unboxing my brand new PSPgo for the very first time.  I also take the opportunity to compare the size of the system to that of the iPhone 3GS and the Nintendo DS Lite.

Don’t take my word for it though.  Click the video above to see for yourself.

The World War II genre still has a few kicks left as The Saboteur gaining some prestige amongst press and gamers alike. A recent event has allowed lead game director Tom French to walk us through one of the more elaborate missions in the game without giving away too much of the storyline.

Some minor story spoilers after the jump.

Tekken 6 hits the airwaves
By: | October 1st, 2009

Without a shadow of a doubt, Tekken is one of the biggest fighting franchises out there. With Tekken 6 hitting Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PSP this October the advertising is already heating up. Gamer Limit is proud as a parent on graduation day to present an exclusive look at the game’s brand new viral video.

There is more coming, so stay tuned to Gamer Limit for all the latest Tekken 6 content, such as Tekken Twitter. I mean, seriously, Tekken on Twitter? I’m already intrigued.

Intergalactic Crime Fighting 101

With the October 27th release of Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time quickly approaching, those zany kids up at Insomniac have the game’s marketing campaign in full swing.  Their most recent video comes in the form of a public service announcement, whose purpose is to teach the hero in all of us how to spot a super villain.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I like to think that I’m well versed in spotting evil maniacal overlords.  Typically their biggest giveaway is that they have some overly ambitious plan to take over the world.  Of course there is also the deep evil sounding laugh that always seems to echo just the right amount.

Don’t take my word for it though.  Hit the jump to see this new video yourself and discover how to spot a super villain in Ratchet and Clank Future: CiT. Read more… »

GT5 damage applies to all cars
By: | September 27th, 2009

Ferrari damage

Following a hands on report from IGN, it looks as if damage will be applicable to every car in GT5 after all.

Previously, the developers implied that only race cars will suffer damage, but this is still partially true as the damage applied to the remaining cars will be seemingly limited to bodywork scratches. Racing cars however will include detachable panels, but every car in the game will still have mechanical damage. It was also confirmed that damage is still work in progress, so hopefully the final product will have a more extensive damage model when GT5 is released next March.

You have to wonder though – is this limited damage a result of time constraints or the manufacturers refusal to allow their cars to be damaged so thoroughly? With Forza 3′s damage modelling also coming under fire, I’m going for the latter. You can make up your own mind however by watching a new gameplay video of GT5′s damage after the break.

Frank West in T vs C screenshot

Now Wii owners REALLY have a reason to be excited: Frank West, the photographer/main character of Capcom’s Dead Rising, has been confirmed as a character in  the upcoming Wii-exclusive fighter Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars.

Hit the jump to see him in action!

Quick preview:

Zombies!  As!  Weapons!

A tribute video showcasing the new Ferrari 458 Italia has been released, which serves the double purpose of advertising Ferrari’s new motor and Polyphony’s stunningly realistic graphics engine. But that’s not all, as the developers of the upcoming Forza 3 have also come up with a tribute video of their own for the same car.

And that is all that needs to be said on this occasion, other than the fact that the videos are breathtakingly beautiful in every way.

You can salivate over the remaining tribute after the break. Let the fanboy’s war over which looks superior commence!

Remember the Sonic the Hedgehog TV show?  The original, with Jaleel “Urkel” White as the voice of Sonic?  The good one, not the crappy spin-offs?  This is in that same vein.

Here’s a brand new trailer for the film which will HOPEFULLY be released on Sonic’s twentieth anniversary, June 23, 2011.

So very high quality… but guess what?
