It might not be official, but the first footage of the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta has leaked onto the net and it’s smoking hot!  It shows off a ton of stuff like new moves, new weapons, new gameplay modes, and jetpacks!  I mean who doesn’t like jetpacks, am I right?

Of course if you aren’t really a fan of Halo you’ll probably watch this video and think to yourself, “yep that looks like Halo”.  I wouldn’t blame you, because to the untrained eye it really does just look like more of the same.  Trust me though, there is a ton of stuff in this trailer to get excited about.  Hit the jump to watch the video and see for yourself. The launch of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is drawing ever closer, and today EA has revealed details of some downloadable content that will be deployed on the day of release. The day one DLC will consist of two multiplayer maps entitled Nelson Bay and Laguna Alta, both of which are previewed in the above video.

Once the game has launched on March 2nd (March 5th for European territories), new adopters can gain free access to the map pack from an enclosed VIP code, much in the same vein as Mass Effect 2. It will not be freely available if you purchase the game pre-owned, however, and an additional map pack is also scheduled for release later in March.

This week on Retro Reunion we have a very special commercial for you. This little gem isn’t pimping the Sega Mega Drive or SNES – oh no! This 30-second clip is dedicated to what is obviously one of the most incredible handheld gaming devices in the history of games.

The ad starts out like a steamy night with Russell Brand: hot. Arnie is doing his thing, donned in his classic Mr. Freeze outfit. But then something happens; all of a sudden it switches gears and becomes even more radically bodacious. You’ll definitely have to pick your jaw up off the floor when you see how insanely insane the insane graphics are!

Over at 1UP, someone with access to an alpha build of the upcoming XBLA and PSN game Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 leaked a smattering of images (of which the header image is one) of the game in motion, along with a video.  While the video was clearly taken with a home video camera, it still gives us a (somewhat) clear look at what we can expect from the game.

For the first time in 7 years, Ferrari has made a comeback for the long running Need For Speed series. From today, you can download a Ferrari centric car pack for the latest iteration of the series, Need For Speed Shift, which includes 10 new cars and 46 Ferrari themed challenges to bolster the game’s career mode, including hot laps, endurance races, eliminators and a new world tour.

There is just one snag however – if you own PS3 version then you are out of luck, as this is currently exclusive to the Xbox 360 for 800 points. You can watch a new shiny launch trailer along with a breakdown of the featured cars after the break.

What do people enjoy more than launching copies of Perfect Dark Zero extremely great distances?  Receiving any news, screens or video that they can on the Perfect Dark XBLA remake that’s set to release in March, that’s what!

At their ongoing X10 conference, Microsoft unveiled a new trailer for the remake.  The video featured the game running in glorious HD, as well as at 60 frames per second (which comes as a huge delight to anyone who played the crazy slow original).

One thing that has always amazed me about the video game industry is the ability of some companies to actually make you excited about their upcoming games, even if you had no interest at all initially.  The latest example of this trend is Bungie and their newest game Halo Reach.

As I already stated yesterday, I am no big fan of the Halo series.  I like it, and I’ve played all the games, but when a new addition to the series is announced, I don’t jump for joy like a lot of people do.  It therefore shouldn’t come as a shock that Halo Reach hasn’t really peaked my interest all; that is until I watched the new video documentary Bungie released today.  Now I’m extremely excited about this new Halo game, which is a feeling I’ve never experienced before.

Those of you who simply can’t wait for God of War 3 to come out on March 16th have two options.  You can either go out and purchase Dante’s Inferno to get your hack and slash, action adventure fix, or you can save your money and watch God of War 3 trailers to hold you over.

Forget everything you already know about Dante’s Inferno. Forget the frequently questionable ad campaign. Forget the comparisons. Forget that there is some big title just around the corner. Forget the differences from its literary “counterpart”. Forget it all. Either way, go to Hell.

There is no getting over the fact that Dante’s Inferno is going to polarize gamers: I think everyone knows that going into it. What I mean by that is you will either coin it as a clone of a game I refuse to mention in this review, or, you will forget all of that, take it for what it is worth, and actually enjoy the hell out of it (pun intended). Expanding on our news post from yesterday, Ubisoft unveiled the very first teaser trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Since the game is gearing up for a “Holiday 2010″ release, it’s safe to assume that production on the title is well underway.
