This year is going to be great for indie games, and when you combine that with cute, what you end up with is ilomilo. This Swedish platform puzzler rivals Little Big Planet in its cuteness and yet I still have no idea what the gameplay is like other than using two cute characters to move blocks back and forth.

The summer trailer helps to alleviate some of the mystery around the game, giving us a glimpse at the “ilomilo shuffle” which reminds me of the old tile shufflers in which you move tiles around to solve a puzzle. Still, the healthy heap of adorable Southend Interactive is piling on is making ilomilo a must try title for Xbox LIVE later this year.

In the run up to E3 next week, Ubisoft has launched a new teaser website for the forthcoming new entry in the Driver franchise. Tentatively referred to as Driver, the game will mark the first Drivertitle in four years since Driver: Parallel Lines and the first to feature on the current generation of consoles. Details are scarce for the moment, but the website includes a countdown for Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, so expect full details to arise at the event.

In a knowing nod to both the opening cinematic and first level of the original Driver from 1999, the live action trailer features a lone driver putting a classic Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger through a timed challenge around a deserted underground car park.

As a keen follower of the series that brought movie car chases to video games, I can’t tell you how much I’m anticipating its next generation debut. Let’s just hope it has more in common with the original than its increasingly lacklustre successors.

Today publisher THQ announced that the fourth title in Volition’s Red Faction series, dubbed Red Faction: Armageddon, will hit the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 March 2011.

Following the official announcement of Killzone 3 last week, Guerrilla Games have posted a new teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel to one of the PlayStation 3′s biggest shooters on the new Killzone website.

As you can see from the video above, the trailer primarily serves as a sneak peak of the new melee combat system, as protagonist Sev demonstrates by pummelling waves of Helghast soldiers before, intriguingly, donning a Helghast helmet.

It’s a beautifully made video that is sure to get tongues wagging – don’t forget to post your reactions in the comments below.

The first reveal trailer for the hotly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops is finally here after the all too fleeting teaser trailer from a few weeks ago.

Do you really need any more introduction than that? I think not – hit the jump to catch a more lengthy insight into Treyarch’s follow-up to World at War, due for release November 9th.

After only being announced just yesterday, a new teaser trailer has emerged for Call of Duty: Black Ops, Treyarch’s upcoming entry in the long running shooting saga. While the trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of plot, it does deliver several split second snippets of action sequences, chilling voice-overs and glimpses of locations that are bound to cause rife speculation for the fans.

As the trailer confirms, Call of Duty: Black Ops will be ready for deployment November 9th, but in the meantime you can watch the first footage of the game after the break.

Courtesy of IGN, the very first trailer for Test Drive Unlimited 2 debuted today, offering a tantalising glimpse at the game’s lavish locale. The new dynamic lighting and day and night cycles are shown off to full effect, to the point it makes you wish you actually lived in the island of Ibiza.

Naturally, a slew of prestigious posers cars are also showcased throughout the trailer, including an Aston Martin DBS, Gumpert Apollo, Ford GT and, curiously, an Audi Q7. Rejoice: now you can pollute the tranquil island of Ibiza in gas guzzling SUVS, which is a first for a Test Drive game.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is set to continue right where the original landmark MMO racer left off this Autumn for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

If you are a huge Metroid fan like I am, you’ve probably been waiting impatiently for Nintendo to release some new gameplay footage of the latest installment in the series: Metroid: Other M.  Well wait no longer, because a brand new trailer has just been released which includes over two minutes of never before seen footage from the game.

The launch of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is drawing ever closer, and today EA has revealed details of some downloadable content that will be deployed on the day of release. The day one DLC will consist of two multiplayer maps entitled Nelson Bay and Laguna Alta, both of which are previewed in the above video.

Once the game has launched on March 2nd (March 5th for European territories), new adopters can gain free access to the map pack from an enclosed VIP code, much in the same vein as Mass Effect 2. It will not be freely available if you purchase the game pre-owned, however, and an additional map pack is also scheduled for release later in March.

Today developer Frictional Games, best known for its survival horror series Penumbra, released a new trailer for its up coming horror title Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Apparently Frictional Games is looking to create a truly immersive experience in Amnesia. Taking a page out of the Half-Life 2 formula, Frictional Games stated: “The idea is to convey as clearly as possible that the player is in control of the character throughout the whole game. There are no cut-scenes or any sort of moments where control is taken away to force the narrative forward.” Read more… »
