The PC version of Resident Evil 6 launched on Friday. To celebrate, Capcom released two minutes and 52 seconds of gameplay footage for The Mercenaries No Mercy mode focusing exclusively on the Left 4 Dead 2 cross content. Chock full of overwhelming zombie hordes and while-on-the-back firearm discharging, this video is meant to please fans of both series, as well as anyone who appreciates good zombie killing action.

In addition, Capcom has released screenshots of the PC exclusive mode perfect for anyone who just can’t get enough. Gamer Limit has it all for you. It goes without saying that after the jump, you will be seeing mature content. Discretion is advised.

Riding hot on the heals of Street Fighter x Mega Man, Capcom has announced its next crossover project with Valve on Friday. Resident Evil 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 will not be a new game, but rather an injection of new content into the PC versions of both titles — all for free.

Resident Evil 6 is getting the lion’s share of crossover content as you get four playable survivors from the Left 4 Dead series — Coach, Nick, Ellis, and Rochelle — in the PC exclusive mode The Mercenaries No Mercy. This mode will also hound players with the Witch and Mini Tank from L4D2.

Steam Holiday Sale 2012

It’s that time of year again, where the weather gets cold, people start celebrating the holidays, and Steam runs a giant sale. Even if your wallet and backlog are too empty and too full respectively, you can always spread some holiday cheer by gifting some great games to your friends.

One of my personal favorites on the First Day of Steam Sale is the Indie Super Mega Pack, which includes Bastion, Amnesia, and recent hits like Hotline Miami and Mark of the Ninja. The Bethesda Pack that has Dishonored and Doom 3: BFG Edition also looks pretty, pretty good. The sale features daily deals, and will run until January 5th.

Steam Halloween Sale 2012

Steam slashed prices on dozens of “spooky, creepy, scary, and eerie titles” today for its Halloween Sale 2012. But that’s not all. Apparently ’tis the season of saving money on games because Groupees has the “Bundle of the Damned” available.

Some great games are on sale from now until next week, so you might as well jump on these deals as soon as possible. Just pretend you’re  a zombie and these games are sweet, juicy, squishy brains.

Awesomenauts PC Screenshot 5

Have you guys given Awesomenauts a try yet? What’d you think? I enjoyed it a lot. Well, there’s good news for those who don’t own a 360 and haven’t gotten a chance to play it yet. Awesomenauts will be out on Steam on August 1st.

The game also received a new patch a couple of days ago that added two new characters for free–Coco, who rides a hoverboard, and Derpl, a space slug with a combat walker. If you stopped playing, now might be a perfect time to get back into the fray. There’s no word on pricing, but because Awesomenauts costs $10 on PSN and XBLA, it’s probably a safe bet to say that it’ll cost the same on Steam.

Steam Summer Sale 2012 - July 12 - July 22

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, then you can be excused for not knowing that Steam’s impending annual Summer Sale was on everybody’s mind. You can also be excused for not knowing that it officially started today and will last until July 22nd.

Like every year, individual games like Portal 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, and Legend of Grimrock, and numerous pack deals are being offered at ridiculous prices that test the impulse control of gamers everywhere.  Steam also has daily deals that are updated every eight hours and are voted into place by the community. I can hear gamers’ wallets crying out in pain from here. Mine is among them.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Capitalizing on all the E3 hype, Valve announced the release date for the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CS: GO will launch simultaneously on XBLA, PSN, PC, and Mac on August 21, 2012.

The original Counter-Stike came out almost 13 years ago, and this new release will feature new maps, characters, and weapons. It will also have updated versions of classic maps like “de_dust.” CS: GO will cost around $15 or 1600 Microsoft Monoply Money Dollar Points.

The Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb

Confession time: I’ve barely touched The Binding of Isaac ever since I first downloaded it. However, I have a feeling that the fact that the Wrath of the Lamb DLC is now available on Steam might cause me to spend some more time in Isaac’s creepy disgusting world.

For just $2.99, Wrath of the Lamb adds new items, chapters, achievements, bosses, and more. According to the developers this expansion adds 50% more content to the game. Sounds like a much better deal than some of the other DLC packs out there. I’m looking at you, horse armor.

Idylla Teeth of Naros

38 Studios’ wasn’t kidding around when they said they were going to support Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning after its release. They already put out The Legend of Dead Kel last month, and now today they revealed the latest bit of content coming your way: The Teeth of Naros.

Read on for more information about the aforementioned Naros chompers.

Gamer Limit Review: Gemini Rue
By: | December 13th, 2011

As a game reviewer, I occasionally comes across an indie game that just strikes a chord with me. Either the art style captures something from the past, the story resonates with me on some level, or the gameplay is a refreshing take on an old genre. I have to say that I was extremely lucky to find a game that has all three of these, in this case the game is Gemini Rue.

Gemini Rue is a little indie game made by Wadjet Eye Games that combines the retro art style of games like Flashback and Out of this World with the great gameplay from classic Lucas Arts adventure games. To make it even better, the story comes across like a Phillip K. Dick novel with it’s neo-noir elements and mind bending discussion of identity. Long story short, if you’re a fan of science fiction or adventure games, you need to check out Gemini Rue. Read more… »

Jamestown Gunpowder Treason and Plot DLC

I’m not a big shmup fan, but Final Form Games’ Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony broke down my barriers. With it’s unique setting (17th Century Mars?!) memorable sprite-based artwork, and killer gameplay it became my favorite shmup.

Well, now I have a reason to play it again. Final Form Games have released the Gunpowder, Treason, and Plot DLC today! Hit the jump for more details. Read more… »

Gamer Limit Review: Orcs Must Die
By: | October 24th, 2011

The tower defense genre has always been one of my favorite ways to kill time when gaming. There’s something that is just so satisfying about building the perfect line of defense and watching your maze of death take care of everything. While this genre has previously been relegated to modifications and other derivative works (WarCraft III custom maps, etc.), now digital distribution services like Steam allow game developers to create fleshed out, full fledged titles. Orcs Must Die is one of these full fledged tower defense titles.

As the name implies, Orcs Must Die involves building a series of traps so that wave after wave of oncoming Orcs meet a grisly end. This sounds entertaining on paper but, as gamers know better than anyone, the proof is in the play. To see if Orcs Must Die is worth your money, hit the jump. Read more… »
