Mash-ups. Neither the fighting game genre nor comic books are strangers to the cross pollinating of two intellectual properties. Since first watching “The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones,” my fascination with mash-ups has been unquenchable. However, among those franchises that attempt the delicate cross breeding, very few are a success. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is one of those few. Read more… »

turtlesintimeheader1The 25th Anniversary Tour for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is making its rounds throughout the United States, and along with it comes a demonstration for a remake that could be for the most popular TMNT game ever. We’ve got one screenshot, and what platforms it will likely be seeing.

After finally seeing Tim Schafer’s new action-adventure obtain a publisher, we were treated with screenshots galore and a release date.  Now, prepare yourself for Brutal Legend’s official story trailer, courtesy of Gamertrailers. com.  “For those of you about to rock…we salute you.”

Hit the jump for the goods.

UK developer Media Molecule, the company behind the fantastically well-realised world of LittleBigPlanet, are offering free Sackboy cuddly toys to any UK resident who’d like one. If you don’t know who Sackboy is by now, you have perhaps been living under a very large and possibly mean rock for the past six months, because he’s arguably the cutest, bounciest little fella to arrive in a video game since Mario.

Sony domination

In a recent interview with GamesIndustry, the soon-to-retire Sony Europe President, David Reeves, has stated the PlayStation 3 has a long way to go before it can overtake Microsoft’s Xbox 360. He predicted it could take three to five years for the PS3 to become the market leader.

Electronic Arts’ upcoming third-person action title Brütal Legend tells the story of a roadie – the “roadie’s roadie”, in fact – who’s memory contains every single heavy metal album cover he has seen and each and every heavy metal lyric that he has ever heard. The man in question, Eddie Riggs – voiced by the outrageously rock ‘n’ roll Jack Black- has an accident one night that results in him embarking on a great adventure inside his own… heavy metal mind. Hit the jump for more information and some juicy screenshots.

If you’ve been even remotely paying attention to the upcoming game inFamous, then you already know that the protagonist has the elemental power of electricity at his beckon call. However, you may not know how he uses his wattage weaponry for transportation. Click the jump, and learn how to make the juice work for you. Read more… »

Killzone 2 is one of the most talked about games of this generation. It has divided opinion left, right and centre, sparking enough frantic-fingers-on-keyboard action to power a small planet. But, whether you like the game or not - I am somebody who loves it, by the way - one thing is for certain: You would just love to open your front door to the postman dressed in a menacing Helghast suit. Wouldn’t you?

Luckily, Sony have been listening to my prayers at least and have announced that they will be hosting an online tournament dedicated to Guerrilla Games’ first-person shooter, whereby a few neat prizes will be up for grabs, including that suit.

The environmental sustainability of the game industry is one which has largely been ignored. The power required to run the next-gen consoles is staggering and the waste produced from the games themselves is disgusting. A solution needs to be found.

Dead Rising 2 is shambling ever closer to the PS2 and 360, and the smell of rotting flesh never smelled so sweet.  If the first trailer was a flirty tease, this new teaser is a full frontal flash.  Get ready to feast your eyes on moose heads, fruity cocktails, and a Darth-Maul inspired chainsaw after the jump. I’ve lived in Tornado Alley all of my life, and have been under too many Tornado Warnings to really count them properly. I love the movie Twister, and have always wondered if they could do a proper tornado survival game. I guess Konami is going to give it a whirl. Get it, whirl…wind?

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was one of the best games on the PS3 at its time of release. Personally, I still play it today and have got the platinum trophy. One question that has always been asked after the sequel was announced was: Will Uncharted 2 have multiplayer?

Now that the embargo on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has been lifted, Naughty Dog has finally revealed some of the answers on the game. It turns out it, that it will feature multiplayer. Read more… »
