God of War Collection

If you own a PS2 and have never played either of the first two God of War games, you should consider yourself a failure as a gamer.  These titles not only represent the pinnacle of PS2 game development, but they also created one of the most popular and feared characters in all of gaming: Kratos.  If you missed the chance to play them, you missed out on some of the best hack and slash action adventure gameplay ever created.

Luckily, Sony is not content leaving the God of War games to sit and collect dust in the PS2 catalog.  As of today they have announced they will be bringing the first two titles to the PS3, in one full HD collection.  Read on to find out more. Read more… »

The PSN garage is becoming continually clogged with waves of exclusive, cheap and cheerful racing games. Toy Home and GTI Club + were always the frontrunners, but now there’s another one with Smash Cars, a new RC racer from Creat Studios.

These games pride themselves on being both fun and accessible slices of low fat goodness, so how does Smash Cars fare after pulling up alongside its established neighbours? Read more… »

Extracting what Avi Winkler, Senior Games Designer at A2M, has spilled regarding their upcoming shooter WET, he says gamers shouldn’t dismiss it due to A2M’s family-friendly background. That said, we probably won’t. The Eliza Dushku-casted game is rated Mature (M), and as the demo proved, swearing is indeed part of the foray. The same goes for the buckets of blood.

Eyepet dated for PS3

eyepet cuteness

He kinda looks like Gizmo, is almost as cute and is invading your Playstation 3 this year. Sony’s Eyepet has the potential to be this year’s must have Christmas gift for younger gamers, tapping into the same market that made Nintendogs such a success for Nintendo. While I don’t fit into that demographic I still really want one, he’s just so damn cute!

Read on for the release date and the official trailer in all its sugar coated awesomeness.

wolfenstein2
[Join Aussie Jeff Effendi and American Christopher Matulich as they both review the newest iteration of Wolfenstein: intro by Jeff]

You’d think that a man with the initials ‘B.J.’ would try his best to stay away from special operation reports, but yet, here we are again, discussing the latest entry in id Software’s Nazi-killing franchise. Aptly titled plain Wolfenstein for current-gen gamers, Agent Blazkowicz’s latest adventure once again sees our hero gunning down up-to-no-good henchmen of Hitler’s.

Wolfenstein doesn’t play like your run-of-the-mill World War II first person shooter (FPS); it takes place in an alternate timeline, a time when Germans spoke with bogus American accents. This, in turn, has also meant that gamers aren’t locked to the same old discourse of the Allied v Axis battles, corroded, rusty rifles, pointy Balaclavas and Stalin’s moustache. That said, there’s probably only one question you want answered: Just how good is a war that allows you to revolt against occult-experimenting Nazis? Read more… »

In our upcoming interview with A2M’s Senior Games Designer, Avi Winkler stated that there may not be any future downloadable content (DLC) for their highly anticipated acrobatic-shooter, WET. Despite the increasing trend of both multiplayer modes and micro-transactions on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, A2M believes that these extensions may detract the game’s overall experience.

Hit the jump for the official word from our interview with A2M.

clank

This Christmas looks to be a promising period this year, particularly for the Playstation 3. There are already some high profile exclusives on their way, but today marks another one to add to that list with Ratchet & Clank Future: a Crack in Time, which is now scheduled for release on October 27th.

There has been little coverage on this title so far, but after Tools of Destruction the anticipation for this sequel will no doubt rise accordingly, as more coverage of this Pixar esque game is released.

A European release date has yet to be announced however, but hopefully it won’t suffer the same fate as a certain Up which we have yet to enjoy despite it being released a good 3 months ago everywhere else. Sorry, just had to get that off of my chest.
