It seems that Activision have hit the big time in terms of expected sales for 2009. Their highly-anticipated sequels, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 have apparently broken pre-sale records, with both titles sitting in the company’s top five pre-ordered games of all time.

And after realizing that Activision has been around for almost thirty years, it becomes even more of an incredible achievement.

Today Activision announced that Guitar Hero 5 will allow players to use their Xbox Live avatar as a playable character.

Today Activision announced the final batch of songs included in Guitar Hero 5. Here at Gamer Limit, we have been hard at work compiling a list of every song officially announced for GH5, so that you guys can decide if you want to buy it or not.

Slated to arrive September 1, Guitar Hero 5 features songs from 83 musicians. Developed by Neversoft for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii, the rhythm game adds a “Party Play” mode which allows players to drop-in & drop-out and change instruments/difficulty levels while playing a song. Also included is a “RockFest” mode where gamers can select from several mini-games.

Congratulations are in order. With over one million copies sold in the first month, Ghostbusters The Video Game seems to have made an appropriate comeback. Was it the witty dialogue and inane humor that spawned this revival, or perhaps it was the satisfying feeling you got whenever you actually captured a ghoul.

Ghostbusters released on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, and DS in June and was received quite well. With these new numbers confirmed, rumors are beginning to abound regarding the continuation of the video game portion of the franchise.

Marvel Comic creator Stan Lee has appeared in twelve big screen adaptations of his comics to date, but this will be the first time his likeness appears in a video game, and he seems quite excited about it.

According to Lee, his likeness is a character that is “signifigant to the games storyline”, but no further details were given.

The entire backwards compatibility issue surrounding the Playstation 3 has been a burden to bear for a lot of Sony gamers. Some have bought a PS3, expecting it, and many have dug around for the older more expensive models that came with built in backwards compatibility. Perhaps the future is looking a lot brighter.

There was one surprise announcement that was missing from Sony’s E3 Press Conference, and that was the announcement of a new Jak and Daxter game. A little bit of investigating, and some help from Google Translator has confirmed that there is some sort of title in the works.

Back in 2006, Atlus brought us Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army – a real-time combat spin-off of the traditionally turn based Shin Megami Tensei series. Despite mediocre critical response,  Atlus gave the Devil Summoner series another whirl with Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, the direct sequel to The Soulless Army.

While many JRPG developers have long since made their move to HD console development, Atlus continues to dish out their critically-acclaimed MegaTen titles on the PlayStation 2 and proves that the console still has some life left. Atlus made us sing with Persona 3, FES and Persona 4, but will they maintain the harmony with Devil Summoner 2 or will it be another weak entry like its prequel?

We’ve had it with the people who make these track listings for rhythm/music/band games! Does no one at all use any form of common sense when creating them? The list for The Beatles Rockband has been released and there is no Yellow Submarine! Not only are we dissapointed that this song is lacking inclusion, but we are also disheartened that the list is so short! Check it out after the break, and feel our loss!

Sony’s E3 conference kicked off with some impressive figures, including a 30% share of all gaming sales in 2008 – spread across the PS2, PS3 and PSP.

Then, an Uncharted 2 clip was met with heavy amounts of applause from the crowd. It looked sensational – we’ll be sure to post the video as and when we get it!
