Crysis

An upcoming event by the name of Gamecity Squared is planning to do the unthinkable. Torn straight from the heart of Crytek’s classic PC shooter, organizers of Crysis Live are preparing to create a massive, outdoor event based on the game.

Working in conjunction with organizers, Crytek UK’s Narrative Designer, Rob Yescombe, believes the game will be “hide and seek for the 21st Century – good old fashioned fun but with a Crytek UK twist.”

Fall is in full swing, and as all gamers know, the barrage of games is just beginning to hit us. Pretty soon we’ll all be reveling in the goliath IPs set for release in just a few short weeks and months, inevitably losing days to such epics as Modern Warfare 2 and Dragon Age. Ever since E3, we here at Gamer Limit have been eagerly waiting this fall rush; I in fact caught Chris Carter drooling over the most recent Brutal Legends trailer. And boy, that wasn’t pretty.

But to help with this excessive salivation, Telltale Games gives us the third installment of their quirky five part graphic adventure series: Tales of Monkey Island. After two humorously solid episodes, can Telltale keep coming with the funny? Or does Lair of the Leviathan fall short on props and go down faster than Carrot Top doing…well, anything? Read more… »

In honor of the Day of Atonement, adventure game legend Dave Gilbert (of Blackwell Legacy fame) is making his point-and-click adventure game The Shivah free for the day!

Hit the jump and prepare to repent!

Gamer Limit Review: Madden NFL 10
By: | September 24th, 2009

madden10banner

The one game that fills the void of the NFL offseason for football fanatics each year has arrived with yet another installment.  Prior to Madden 2009, many, including myself, viewed the  franchise as a game in transition, as if it were trying to find itself.  Tweaking gameplay mechanics each year, sometimes for the best and sometimes for the worst, EA continued to drive this game down an unknown path.

Yes, QB View was a good idea on paper, but altogether a giant mistake.  But through this transitional phase, Electronic Arts Tiburon has truly gone back to the roots with Madden 2010 and polished the game into a well-rounded, enjoyable title.  It’s one I can finally safely say I will purchase each year as long as they stay on their current path. Second Life

It appears that the virtual world can be just as pricey as reality if you want to have the very best in Second Life. Linden Lab, developer of the extremely popular MMO, has released specific information regarding in-game sales figures, stating that gamers have spent over $1 billion in “digital goods”.

But Linden Lab didn’t stop there; the developer also claimed that their title has “the largest virtual economy in the industry”, and that they are seeing $50 million every month in user-to-user spending.
