gow Wyck Godfrey talks about Gears of War Movie

Time and time again I’ve harped on the fact that gamers are still waiting for a mesmerizing adaptation of a film spawning from a video game.  Wyck Godfrey, producer of the Gears of War film, took time out of his schedule to talk about his ideas.

The King of Fighters, SNK’s flagship series, is getting a movie.  Of course, it looks just awful.

Why?  Because it threw away everything that was certifiably KoF and slapped on a cheap science fiction aesthetic.  Bleh.

Finally it’s here.  After months of anticipation, Disney has finally released a trailer for their upcoming film Prince of Persia, and it seems just as exciting and thrilling as the video game.   We all know that video games turned into film have rarely, if ever, been very good, but with these high profile names floating around, it’s hard to believe that this game will fail much like its brethren.

With the leading role played by Jake Gyllenhaal, a stage presence by Ben Kingsley, a Jerry Bruckheimer production and backed by Disney, it’s shaping up to be the first great video game film made.  Let’s hope it lives up to its hype. Read more… »

The triple-platinum Spore could be coming to a theater near you thanks to Fox and EA.  Variety reports that it will be a CG movie produced by Blue Sky studios, directed by Ice Age’s helmsman Chris Wedge, with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, the writers behind Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, will be working on the script.
