While there have been other tie ins before, Dead Space is one of the first franchises to have its tie ins so intrinsically linked. Dead Space is not just a video game, but an animated feature and comic book too. All three pieces of content are essential parts of the story line for Dead Space. Starting with the comic book, it tells of the events that transpire on the colony of Aegis Seven.

The movie chronicles all hell breaking loose aboard the USG Ishimura. The story ends, of course, with the Dead Space the game, detailing Isaac Clark’s adventures aboard the Ishimura, post outbreak.

When Fanboys Attack -The Conclusion
By: | November 26th, 2008

Not too long ago here at Gamer Limit, I was given the reigns to write 3 articles to act as a social experiment in a sense. There is no doubt in any ones mind that fanboys exist. I wrote 3 articles, all had similarities and can still be found here & here. While I firmly standby what was written, I wrote each in a manner to get the fanboys going. The following is a compilation of the results that were gathered based on those opinionated and not so opinionated people. There is nothing scientific about this story and all results are deemed unproven by any official means. The results are based off the number of “Hits” Gamer Limit received and the overwhelming outspoken comments given to each story. For this we will also tally comments from a popular gaming site N4G.com, which compiles the top gaming stories from around the web, while also allowing users to comment on stories.

Every developer wants to see their games title plastered on billboards, in T.V. commercials, and even on soda cans, but few do. But there definitely are some that do. Overhyped games don’t mean they are bad or destined for failure, it just means they simply have raised expectations from fans. Fans expect more from a game that they hear and see everywhere. When hyping a game, there are levels. Simple word of mouth can start a tremendous wave of hype. Word of mouth can potentially be the worst kind of hype. When it’s passed from this guy who knows that guy who trust the other guy, people believe it. But also there’s the simple 50 million dollars spent to do everything possible to get a game in to gamers dreams.

This list is a list of this generations most over hyped games, good or bad. This list is not all inclusive. There are simply too many games that get an extraordinary amount of hype that the list could go on forever. With the gaming industry continuing to grow, there bound to be parts 2, 3, 4, 627, 8094, and so on.

Microsoft has the New Xbox Experience ready for you,
but are you ready for it?

Instead of complaining, you should know why the NXE is a step forward and not just the unwanted child of the Cross Media Bar and the Wii fridge.

By: | November 19th, 2008

Way back when, there were consoles that couldn’t access the internet. Mainly because it didn’t exist. The NES and Sega Genesis were consoles for one or two people to play amongst themselves.
