Valve set out with a very simple goal in mind when creating the new Crash Course download content pack for Left 4 Dead: to create a simple, short, all inclusive campaign that all types of gamers can enjoy.

If you’re a PC gamer, you can snatch this content up absolutely free of charge. For all of those poor souls whose Left 4 Dead console of choice is the 360, be prepared to fork over 560 Microsoftpoint($7.00). So is Crash Course worth your hard earned cash? To be blunt, it depends. Read more… »

This week’s update has been somewhat overshadowed by the good and not so good events of the Tokyo Games Show.

On the plus side, there are some playable demos for Lost Planet 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, a host of discounts on some of those overpriced Guitar Hero tracks we’ve all been avoiding so far and a satisfactory batch of downloadable content, including the Broken Steel pack for Fallout 3.

This week’s PSN Store update can be read in full after the break.

UPDATE: Eidos sent out an update stating that the “Prey in the Darkness Map Pack” is already available for the Xbox 360 in Europe. The company also stated that the DLC will only be available on the PlayStation 3 in North America.

Dubbed the “Prey in the Darkness Map Pack,” the DLC will add the “Heart of Darkness FreeFlow Combat” map where “players will battle a mob of relentless and maniacal enemies at the Arkham Pumping Station.” The other map, titled “Hothouse Prey Invisible Predator,” pushes player to “effectively take down enemies at the Abandoned Glasshouse.” Read more… »

Microsoft has received quite a bit of flak over its Games On Demand pricing, both in the U.S. and overseas.  Mass Effect in particular is priced at nearly $100 in Australia, and the American titles are at or above the hard copy prices.

This is not good business.  This is not OK.

But I have a solution.  Read on to find out what it is.

Really EA?

With Madden 2010 just around the corner with an August 14th release, I continue to salivate at every piece Madden news. Pumped and ready to go for the midnight release at my local Gamestop and a vacation day being used from work on Friday to play all day, this latest piece of news leaves a concerning and bad taste in my mouth.

With guns a blazing, Ubisoft has announced that Call of Juarez multiplayer downloadable content will make its way to PSN and XBL this week. Amazon has just a handful of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood left for $34.97 on both the 360 and PS3, this week may very well be an opportune time for some wild west action.

With four online multiplayer maps, the “Old West Map Pack,” will cost you almost a third of what the deal on Amazon provides. With its $9.99 price tag, this first of three DLCs coming to the wild west shooter will put you in the middle of the action where it “will allow players to relive even more historical events of American history.” Read more… »
