Those of you who were looking forward to playing Dragon Age III: Inquisition on your PS3 or Xbox 360 next year might have to wait a bit longer. And buy a new console. That too.
According to rumors reported by Kotaku, the LinkedIn profile of EA Shanghai level designer Tao Gu states that “Scope of the DAIII has been chaged [sic], which will target next gen platform [sic] and will be postpone [sic] to 2014.”
It’s important to note that 2014 could also refer to the fiscal year 2014 (begins April 1, 2013). This coincides with news that Polygon reported on about EA delaying “‘key game’ to fiscal year 2014″ back in May. Because many gamers complained about the rushed nature of Dragon Age II, this delay can be seen as a positive thing.
It’s also interesting to remember that when BioWare announced the game back in September, they didn’t reveal what platforms it was going to be for. The game is said to be built with DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, which is designed for the next generation of consoles and gaming PCs.
