Activision may have stopped making Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero games, but that isn’t stopping former developers who worked on both franchises from creating their newest title: Epic Skater.
The game is going for a targeted release date of December 2012, and will be hitting the iPhone, iPad, and Android platforms. Keep an eye out for some coverage of the upcoming Epic Skater beta, as we’ll be giving you the latest on this intruiging project.
Considering that I’ve been replaying all of Neversoft’s old Tony Hawk games, this announcement couldn’t have come at a better time! If you want to contribute, head on over to their Kickstarter.
Los Angeles, August 7, 2012: Brought to you by some of the key creators of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games, Epic Skater is an Action Sports video game coming to the iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile devices.
Epic Skater will be played as your traditional 2D side scroller in a variety of real world skateboarding locations across the globe. The core focus of the game is to take the coolest elements of skateboarding, and utilize touch controls to create a fun, challenging, and a VERY touch-intuitive experience that has never done before in the palm of your hand.
UpUpStart also has announced an indie music soundtrack that will feature a list of exclusive tracks from some unnamed indie bands in the LA scene.
This game really sets out to raise the bar for the skateboarding genre on mobile. Be sure to check it out, coming to your app stores sometime in late 2012.
