Does it surprise anybody else that Capcom just announced Lost Planet 3? Well regardless of how many people were clamoring for it, there will be a third Lost Planet game coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime in early 2013.

According to Destructoid, “Lost Planet 3 mixes first-person rig piloting with third-person on-foot shooting,” and the game will be a prequel to the series that focuses more on the “extreme conditions” that was the first game’s hallmark. A first-look trailer for Lost Planet 3 can be watched here.
