[Update: LKS for PS Vita will be playable at TGS. The title is said feature full touch based controls, a new story, dynamic weather, and an overhauled visual style with more realistic proportions.]

Well, I guess I’m going to have to get a PlayStation Vita. Word comes from adriasang that a sequel to Marvelous Entertainment’s Little King’s Story will be reveled in next week’s Famitsu. Apparently, the game is called The King, The Demon King and the Seven Princesses: New King Story (translated) and will be heading to the PS Vita by way of Konami.

The Wii original was a fantastic experience, but I figured chances for a sequel were nil. Apparently, a bankrupt developer and modest sales aren’t enough to keep this one from spawning a sequel. I don’t really care how it’s happening, but I’m glad it is.

While attention has shifted from gamescom to PAX Prime without us even thinking about it, there is a summit that will fly mostly under the radar this year — Cloud Gaming USA. Just after we’ve gone home with our swag bags and hangovers, this event will take place in San Jose, Calif. September 7 – 8.

Industry professionals will fill a conference hall adjacent to Silicon Valley in efforts to shape the future of how we play games. Most likely, the future won’t look like the above picture. Albeit, a look at the attendees may provide insight as to why we should pay attention.

Xenoblade Chronicles landed on European shores last week, and so far it looks like the Wii RPG is performing pretty well at retail. The highly anticipated title is currently charting at number seven for entertainment software sales in the United Kingdom.

On the Wii-specific charts Xenoblade is second only to the ever-popular Zumba Fitness, which has enjoyed ten straight weeks in the top spot. Well that’s certainly exciting news. But if you’re still on the fence, our official review is on its way.

MOBA fans, rejoice! No longer will you have to occasionally sit in lanes, constantly wondering whether or not you’re going to face your next opponent in the near future – with the upcoming “Dominion” gametype in League of Legends, you’re going to see a whole lot of direct PVP confrontation.

Dominion works just like the common FPS gametype “Domination”: various checkpoints are set up and as each team captures objectives, points are awarded over time – in essence, all hell is breaking loose, all the time. DotA II and Blizzard DotA are still quite a ways away, so at the very least, definitely check out the free League of Legends client when you get the chance.

There were several great game soundtracks that blessed my ears in the past few months. Surprisingly to me, they have all come from independents or otherwise obscure games. Also surprising, these soundtracks have all supplemented intriguing stories, charming art styles and solid gameplay.

I would be remiss not to mention the fact that two of the soundtracks on this list led me to discover their respective games and may have changed the way I first played them. In the era of high budget production and amidst clamor for AAA quality, these soundtracks make the argument that music should do more than provide a game with mere ambiance.

Grasshopper Manufacture is back with a strange new downloadable title. This time around the Shadows of the Damned development house is teaming with Digital Reality to bring an action-platformer to XBLA and PSN. The European developer and Grasshopper have worked together before, on the yet to be released horizontal shooter Sine Mora.

After the break we have a gameplay video of legendary Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka unveiling Black Knight Sword at Grasshopper Manufacture’s event at Gamescom in Germany. Let’s just say if you like marionettes, you’re in luck with this one.

It’s official. All three titles under the banner of fan-campaign Operation Rainfall are being localized for Western release. Nintendo of Europe just released their Autumn/Winter software line-up, which includes The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower. Both titles will be joining the European Wii library sometime next year.

If you want a reason to turn on your Wii this year Monolith Soft’s acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles is landing in European stores this week. Nintendo of America may want to keep you from playing great Japanese Wii games, but now that there are English translations in the works, that likely won’t deter ardent American Wii owners.

How big is the sword? How about one that spans the distance between the moon and the earth? It’s something we’ve grown to expect from Capcom and Asura’s Wrath.

The latest trailer from gamescom has Asura going head to head against his former mentor, Augus. Before you click on to see said trailer, let’s get some legal out of the way: by clicking to read more you acknowledge that you are over 18 years old. Now, enjoy.

Capcom is showing full force at this year’s gamescom going down in Germany’s fourth largest city, Cologne. Starting tomorrow, fans will get to see what newness they have brewing for upcoming titles like Asura’s Wrath. This includes a new trailer that has Asura taking on his former mentor, Augus, in what can be described as a testosterone filled battle complete with a great phallus reference that takes place on the moon.

Gamer Limit has the video coming soon. For now, you can enjoy the new screens that show off some stills of the battle, as well as some character profiles including Augus; Kalrow, an old man with a walking stick on wheels (why not?) and Sergei who reminds me of Flea from Chrono Trigger. So, without further ado …

We’ve all experienced educational video games in some form or another (think Mario Teaches Typing, Math Blasters or Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?). Whether or not they’ve been enjoyable is a different thing entirely.

The New York State Office of Mental Health (NYSOMH) announced a radically somber educational game Monday, focused on suicide prevention amongst high school students. At-Risk for High School Educators, it’s a game for the teachers.

The debut trailer for Grasshopper Manufacture’s next game dropped earlier today and the trailer shows off a few seconds of gameplay. From that limited look it appears as though Lollipop Chainsaw might play something like a cross between Dead Rising and No More Heroes.

As with any Grasshopper title, this one is near the top of my list of highly anticipated upcoming titles. Shadows of the Damned was fantastic and I can’t wait to get my hands on what’s next from the twisted mind of Suda 51.

Twenty years ago, shoot ‘em ups were one of the most prolific genres on the market. Since then, they’ve fallen into decline and become something of a rarity. Now, fans of the venerable genre always have their eyes on the horizon, on the lookout for the next slice of bullet heaven to waltz their way.

A couple of months ago that might have meant the British colonization of Mars on PC, but this week you might want to set your sights on Nintendo’s WiiWare service. If you enjoyed Ikaruga (how could you not) and its unique polarity mechanic, you may just want to check out what Microforum has in store.
