Today, Capcom announced that the 3D Edition of Street Fighter IV has shipped one million copies worldwide. While that figure refers to the number of units they’ve sent to retailers, as opposed to how many copies sold, it definitely means they’re off to a good start. It’s nice to see that Capcom is throwing their support behind Nintendo’s newest handheld right out of the gate.

They’re not stopping there though, Mega Man Legends 3, Resident Evil: Revelations, and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D are still in the pipeline for 3DS releases. Capcom fanboys and 3DS owners sure have plenty to look foward to in the near future.

PlayStation Plus members can dig into a downloadable version of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, new Killzone 3 maps, and a bunch of other “free” stuff. Other than that, notable releases include Patapon 3, Bulletstorm DLC, and a new  PSP mini – 3D Twist & Match.

Ubisoft’s press release Tuesday revealed the development of PowerUp Heroes, a game that combines the Kinect and your XBox 360 avatar for “the ultimate super power-infused full-body fighting game”. Turn your avatar into a superhero by having him or her don one of twenty super suits. After you defeat an enemy, you take his or her super suite and powers a la Mega Man; and if you’ve made your avatar a digital version of yourself, like I have, it’s as close as you’re going to get to fulfilling a childhood fantasy.

If you enjoyed Kinect Adventures, then this may be up your alley. Albeit, after watching this trailer, I can only hope I don’t look as silly playing the game as they did acting out their mock teen super hero drama. All lightheartedness aside, this exclusive title can very well serve as a sampling of Microsoft’s vision of a predominantly social gaming future.

Today marks the start of another Humble Indie Bundle, this time brought to you by the good folks over at Frozenbyte, a Finnish game studio.

In the past Gamer Limit has posted news items about the two previous Humble Indie Bundles, but in case you missed those let me break it down for you. Basically, you can pay what you want for (in this case) five indie games you may have missed otherwise. The cool thing is, you get to choose where you money goes. You can split it evenly among the developers and charities, give it all to charity, or send it all to the developer. The charities involved are Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play Charity. Read more… »

I feel obligated to preface this review with a bold statement: I’m not a fan of vanilla Angry Birds. The original Angry Birds leaves a lot to be desired, and while AB: Seasons tried to mix things up a bit, it ultimately felt the same. Other than the designs for the titular adorable feathered fiends, there really isn’t a whole lot there to justify all of the hype it’s receieved over the past year.

Thankfully, Angry Birds Rio proves that Rovio has a few tricks up their sleeve. Read more… »

While the rest of the world may prefer Microsoft’s device that allows you to have a pet tiger in your living room over the PlayStation Move, Japan isn’t so easily fooled. You see, everyone in Japan has already owned a Kinect since 2003 — back when it was called an Eyetoy.

Since Sony’s original and completely unique motion-controller launched in Japan, they’ve managed to move an impressive 170,000 units. Meanwhile, Microsoft has only sold a paltry 90,000 waggle cameras. Utterly pathetic. Oh Microsoft, when will you ever learn that blatantly copying your competition won’t earn you the same profits?

Apparently, this week has been dedicated to aquatic mammals. While orcas are definitely awesome, baby seals are just about the cutest thing ever. I dare you to find something that rivals these little guys in the department of being adorable.

How does Crysis 2 compare to Crytek’s past games? Is the multiplayer worth trying? Check out this review to find out!

Orcinus orca, more commonly reffered to as the killer whale, is a toothed whale and member of the dolphin family. Orcas are found in oceans across the world, from the arctic seas to more tropical waters. While some feed on fish exclusively, others hunt marine mammals such as seals. Orcas have been known to play (violently) with their food. If you love nature videos, something awesome awaits you after the break.

Anyway, the Gamer Limit Staff got together this weekend and discussed what we’ve all been playing lately. We invite you to do the same. Hit up the comments below and let us know what you’ve been playing.

Retro themed games are really starting to find their center on the iOS platform. While they aren’t exactly flooding the marketplace, gems like Karoshi, Forget Me Not, Kami Retro, and League of Evil are gracing iTunes more and more these days. The latest entry to the iOS retro family is “Mos Speedrun“: an old school platformer with an adorable lady bug mascot.

Speedrun’s premise is simple: get to the end of the level without falling onto spikes, or becoming an insidious enemies’ lunch. While it all sounds well and fun, is it worth the $1.99 asking price? Read on to find out. Read more… »

The Parasite Eve games, developed by Squaresoft, blend elements of survival horror with those of traditional RPGs. After an eleven year hiatus following the release of Parasite Eve II Aya Brea is back in this “cinematic action RPG” for the PlayStation Portable.

Not fitting squarely into any particular genre, The 3rd Birthday is an incredibly difficult game to describe. It throws elements from third-person games, tactical-shooters, survival horror, and RPGs into a blender. The combination is about as pretty as you might expect.

Story is something crucial to any RPG. The 3rd Birthday’s narrative is poorly delivered, largely incomprehensible and makes less sense as the game wears on. It is December 24, 2012 and everyone in Manhattan is having a grand old time. Suddenly, giant tentacles and monsters appear and begin destroying the city and slaughtering its residents. Yes, tentacles. Pardon me while I facepalm for a moment.
