Battlefield 3 is getting a lot  love on Facebook, with approximately 781,000 likes as of this article’s publication. This is accelerated no doubt by EA and DICE’s  promise to release a full 12 minute gameplay trailer once they reach 1,000,000. You don’t have to wait that long. The trailer is out and Gamer Limit has it for you.

Perhaps EA and DICE were too excited, perhaps they had certain PR deadlines that just needed to be met. In any case, it’s a win for fans and gamers in general. It must be noted that the trailer with commentary is yet to be unlocked. That won’t stop you from enjoying this eye popping video, however. If you have never gotten your hands on any of the games in the Battlefield series, this trailer may motivate you to do so in anticipation of this beauteous game.

Fair warning — not safe for work language is included in this video ahead.

DICE executive producer, David Bach, has lauded the game as truly next gen. In a recent interview with CVG, he says the engine that drives this masterful first person shooter not only pushes the PS3 and 360 to their limits, but can dominate graphically on the next generation of consoles as well. “I think Battlefield 3 will look like a next-generation game and all the technology we’re building, the whole Frostbite 2 system – the animations, audio, everything – is trying to aim for a couple of years in the future, rather than looking at what we have today.”

Is this 12 minute trailer a sneak peak into the future? Let us know what you think in the comments section.

Aside from the headline and a bit of subjectivity in your second graph, this is a fairly solid news brief.

    • Subjectivity is what we go for here – you can get objective news anywhere on the internet, but since we’re a gaming blog, which covers entertainment based news, we strive to have a bit more personality.

Pro tip: all news is biased. Only robots are unbiased. I don’t like robots.

    • Objective games-journalist here!

Battlefield 3 is a game. It is currently in development. Electronic Arts makes Battlefield. Here is a video of Battlefield 3. It is 12 minutes and 8 seconds long.

@Kyle LOL I would stop reading y’all and every other site if they were A’s objective and boring as your version of this post. Gamer Limit !!!

Frostbite 2 I think blows Unreal out of the water. This trailer says it all. But I heard that to get it the way it’s supposed to look, they have to run something like 3 high end video cards.

  3. They had already announced it would be posted today anyway, but it would have been “unlocked” earlier if they got 1 million Bookface fans. The trailer didn’t offer much that was new, but it still looks incredible.

In regards to @Francisco’s question, Frostbite 2 looks mighty delicious. If it ain’t the future it sure is close to it. I did read an article about the new features in Unreal Engine. I think they’re going to be the two big one’s used for next gen consoles …

@Killroy really? 3 vid cards? Anyone know what kind?

  5. avatar Marcus

I would purchase three high end video cards to run that game. I would devote money specifically to the cause. I’ve never seen anything as intense or shockingly realistic as this.
