Konami have currently suspended the Metal Gear Online service following the major earthquake that hit Japan on Friday.

Japanese power companies had requested that the public limit their electricity use, particularly during peak hours. Konami responded by taking the MGO servers offline to help with the energy shortage.

Kojima Productions posted the following to their twitter account: “To conserve power we are temporarily stopping the MGO servers. Timing for the recommencement is TBD. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
