Today Ubisoft unveiled a new downloadable shooter headed to the PC and Xbox 360. Dubbed Bloody Good Time, the multiplayer-centric FPS is currently in development at Outerlight, the folk who made The Ship.
Powered by Valve’s Source engine, Bloody Good Time sees eight players duking it out for the chance to star in a horror movie. Confused? I know I am.
Apparently the premise of the game is that each player takes on the role of an actor. Each level (or arena if you will) will take place on various movie sets and will see players fragging each other with weapons running the gamut from shotguns to exploding rats. As you can tell from the screen shot above, Bloody Good Time will feature a distinct cartoony style, which should help accentuate the ultra violence.
Does this sound like the kind of game you’d be interested in? Personally, I’m a bit skeptical. I really don’t get the demographic Ubisoft is going for with this title. I mean, the cartoony art design is the kind of thing that would attract kids, but the whole deathmatch aspect rules the little ones out. I guess I’ll have to wait for more details to arrive before I can come to some kind of verdict.

The lack of artistic originality is painful to look at. I’m sorry Valve
