For most, the summer lull is still in full effect. Outside of sports titles and downloadable games, really not too much going on in the world of video game releases. Don’t worry though, big release after big release is quickly approaching.

So are you taking advantage of this lull to enjoy activities other than video games? Are you tackling your backlog? Or maybe you’re doing the cool thing and playing sports games. Either way, we want to hear about it.

So within the past week we have seen Madden NFL 11, Monday Night Combat, and Scott Pilgrim get released. Any of you dabbling in these big releases?

As many of you can probably tell, Madden has taken up almost all of my time. The game has a hold of me. I am currently in the draft period of a serious franchise and have been building up my Madden Ultimate Team. In fact, within a two week period, Madden NFL 11 is my most played game of the year. Crazy, I know.

Other than the sweet, sweet gridiron, I played and completed the campaign in Alien Swarm during Gamer Limit Game Night. And not just an hour ago I played DJ Hero for the first time. I know, I’m late to the party. Picked it up for cheap and am loving it. The mashups are fantastic.

Anyhow, enough about me, tell us what you’ve been up to. I’m going to sit here in front of my computer and patiently wait for your responses. Just kidding, I’m going to go play Madden.

  1. Starcraft 2 …. Starcraft 2 ….. Starcraft 2 …

  2. Finished up Muramasa the Demon Blade. Also playing the Saboteur. I think I’m going to give up on trying to 100% the freeplay portion of the game. There’s just too much to make esplode.

  3. I’m with Shawn on this one… SC2 all the way. Although I just bought Quake 2 on Steam for $2.50… I wonder if there are still multiplayer servers :)

  4. Still Killing Floor, though I feel guilty about not playing other games (not to mention abandoning Team Fortress 2). Since I have a single level 5 perk and several approaching that threshold, I’ve been playing on Hard difficulty. Let me tell you, when it comes to those matches you can never have too many Field Medics.

I’ve been going through my backlog during the summer months. Got 4 GBA titles finished in the past 2 weeks. On the last boss in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.

Thankfully money is tight so it will keep me from getting the new releases this fall.

Been playing less video games than often. Still BC2, TF2, and Alien Swarm. Half Life 2 on Hard was a bit too easy. Can’t wait for Metroid!!!
