Gran Turismo 5 will finally be making its grand entrance out of the showroom this November, and Polyphony have announced today some special edition versions of the game for Europe.

Unlike the American equivalent however, there will be two seperate bundles to choose from – you can find a complete content listing and pricing details after the break.

As a completionist, more often than not, I find myself trying to do and get everything in a game. In the good old days, time and commitment were the only things between me and that very goal. Now, I have one of the most absurd obstacles to overcome: pre-order incentives.

What was once an afterthought has now snowballed into a giant nuisance. Stop it! Read more… »

This week’s PSN update is sadly rather slim on notable releases, with only a handful of worthy downloads on offer. There’s a few new scraps of DLC to be had for Bioshock 2,  ModNation Racers and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, but the highlight for some will undoubtedly be the inclusion of the PSOne fighting classic Tekken 2.

Bizarrely, there is also a playable demo of Modern Warfare 2. Because nobody bought that game when it was released some nine months ago.

The remainder of this week’s Store update can be found after the break.

Today Runic Games announced that it is hard at work on the sequel to its action RPG title Torchlight. Simply titled Torchlight II, the sequel sees some major additions including co-op multiplayer.

Another major change that you’ll notice right away is that Torchlight II takes players out of the mines and allows them to explore the continent of Vilderan. Players can expect “weather, time of day cycles, and random events” on top of the “deep ominous caverns” we’ve all grown to love. Read more… »

You know the last place I expect to get my gaming news? Facebook. In fact, in recent weeks (months, whatever), I’ve found very few reasons to log onto Facebook. Mostly because it sucks.

But what’s this? The official Puzzle Quest 2 page on Facebook dropped news today of a Steam release of the game in the coming weeks? My, how rare.

Not too much of an update this week. And no PS Plus content to boot. Fret not though, for there is a Summer Sale!

I strongly recommend taking advantage of at least one game offered in the Summer Sale. If you had to choose one, definitely go with PixelJunk Shooter. It is easily one of my favorite PSN games. Hit the jump for the full breakdown.

Well, the odds of you buying NBA Elite 11 just went up. EA announced today that all new copies of NBA Elite 11 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 will include a download code for NBA Jam. Makes you happy and sad at the same time, doesn’t it?

This HD version of NBA Jam will include three game modes: Play Now, Classic Campaign and Online. Unfortunately, the Remix Tour mode will remain a Wii exclusive. Oh, did I mention there is no other way to get NBA Jam for Xbox 360 or PS3? Oh EA, you never fail to amaze me. Read more… »

Well, it seems to be that time again: summer. You know what I’m talking about; when the excitement of getting out of school and having no responsibilities wears off and all you’re left with is boredom and an empty wallet. Well, don’t fret. Your buddy Alex is here with the first piece in what I hope will be  a long series of articles listing free-to-play games that will help you pass the rest of the season.

I know what you’re thinking. “Free to play? There are tons of free to play games… and they all suck.” Well, lately there has been a major push from studios like Turbine Entertainment and Valve to get some AAA free-to-play games on the market. I’ve done my very best to ween out all the crap games so that you have a concise, organized list of decent titles that are actually worth your time. Read more… »

Update: Microsoft has announced that the PC version of Fable 3 has been pushed back to an undisclosed date. According to the publisher: “The console and PC versions are now on different schedules as we’re focusing on building experiences optimized for each platform. We aren’t announcing a ship date for the PC sku at this time, but expect news soon.”

Original:Yesterday Microsoft representative Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced via podcast, that Fable 3 will feature a unique pre-order bonus.

According to Nelson, gamers who pre-order Fable 3 from Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and Gamestop will gain access to a special character creator that allows them to make a non-playable character who will actually “live” in one of the villages in their copy of game. But that’s not all. The user-made villager will actually give you access to a “thrilling new quest” that ends with a “1,000 gold fortune.” Even after the quest, the villager will “continue to interact with you on your journey to become ruler of Albion.” Read more… »

Gamer Limit Review: OnLive
By: | August 2nd, 2010

OnLive has been available to users for over a month now. During this time, I have tested out the service in many different scenarios: from a high-end PC, to a five year old laptop, to both desktop and laptop Macs. Put simply, the service works.

Oddly enough, it was the service working that many questioned prior to OnLive’s release. While the technology is held back by the poor infrastructure that is United States internet, it manages to utilize new compression technology to make up for it. But is the fact that it works enough? Join me as I provide both a written and video review of the OnLive service. Read more… »

As a longtime fan of the series, the announcement of Driver: San Francisco (the next generation debut and the first Driver game since 2006) had me beaming with uncontrollable excitement and anticipation. It was all set to come hammering around the next 90 degree corner just in time for the Christmas period too, but was sadly stopped and impounded for dangerous driving. Apparently it will take until the early part of 2011 for it to be released, much to my dismay.

Fear not however, as Gamer Limit will soon be embarking on an extended road trip alongside the Wheelman, starting from the series roots in Newcastle before stopping by at Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Havana, Las Vegas, Rio de Janeiro, Nice and Istanbul. Yes, that’s right - Driver will be getting the full retrospective treatment over the next month or so, reliving all the highs and lows from its glorious inception in 1999 through to its critically panned modern-day instalments.

At any rate, Driver: San Francisco‘s intentions are clear: you can tell they are wanting to get the series back on track and back to its roots just by looking at its artwork shown above, courtesy of my lovingly crafted timeline. Be sure to leave your thoughts on the past and future of the Driver series in the comments below!
