Today publisher THQ announced that Relic’s upcoming third-person action/RPG title Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is coming to the PC alongside the Ps3 and Xbox 360 release.
Slated to hit sometime early 2011, Space Marine puts gamers into the shoes (or rather powered armor boots) of a Imperial Space Marine defending a Forge World from an Ork invasion. As “one of humanity’s elite warriors,” you are considered the “last line of defense.” For those of you who don’t know anything about the Warhammer 40K universe, essentially you play as a super-human decked out in the latest, most badass equipment. Expect to be jump-packing into the fray, unloading your bolter, and cracking some skulls with your chain sword.
According to Relic Entertainment general manager Jonathan Dowdeswell, “The loyal PC audience is incredibly important to us here at Relic so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC version of the game.”
It’s funny that this news story popped up today. You see, two weekends ago I was feeling a tad nostalgic for my old Chaos Warhammer 40K army (Emperor’s Children represent!) so I picked up Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II and it’s expansion Chaos Rising (also developed by Relic). If Space Marine turns out half as good as Dawn of War II, I’ll be more than satisfied.
What about you guys? Are there any table top Warhammer fans lurking about Gamer Limit? Are you guys at all interested in the Warhammer 40K world? Do you expect Space Marine to kick ass or am I holding a first-class ticket for the hype train? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

40K fan here!
That said I’ve never been interested in the games…especially Fire Warrior.
You mean you don’t have the option to play as a Khorne Berserker and run around screaming about blood for the blood god? Let down central… I would rather play a fungus grown pod orc than a space commy.
why cant you be a hungery hungery carnifex and run around smashing EVERYTHING with crushing claws regenerate a bd a venom cannon???
leave out the “bd” dont know were that came from
not to be that guy who posts abunch in a row, but i love the orks and the tyranids and relic needs more that the fagmarines as a campaign option
