If you’re a fan of ambient strategy games, this is one release you are going to want to look out for. Alex May and Rudolf Kremers announced their 2009 Independent Games Festival finalist Eufloria will be released on the PlayStation network sometime next year.

According to the press release, this new version of Eufloria will feature new content and several improvements over the PC version that was released late last year. There are scant details on what sort of new content we will be seeing, but because the game is divided up into levels one would assume you will see new environments to explore and conquer.

Eufloria is a unique blend of strategy and ambient music gameplay that originally started under the project name Dyson before a Direct2Drive competition was held in order to rename the game. It is similar to Darwinia in execution but remains refreshingly unique with the “units” and methods of conquering you employ in order to win the game.

The original soundtrack was composed by Brian Grainger and he will be reprising his role for the PlayStation Network release. The team did not make any statement concerning an Xbox Live Arcade release.

  1. I love weird games like this. If it weren’t for the indie gaming community I kinda doubt I’d play half as much as I do.

  2. I’ll keep an eye out for this: the PSN well has been dry for months.

Very nice with this kind of review. 9 games in less than 10 mneitus is very effective. I’ve tried leave home and I really enjoyed the look it has, but I didn’t find the gameplay as good as the design so I think 4/5 is just right.
