EA have just confirmed that the latest instalment in the long running Medal of Honor series will be released in Europe on October 15th, a whole month before Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

It has yet to be announced that this will be case for US owners, however it seems as though EA are keen to push the game in an attempt to avoid lacklustre sales.

While the last couple of games failed to set the world alight (due to its archaic gameplay and unremarkable presentation), the new game entitled Medal of Honor is set to change all that. Boasting a brand new engine, a meaty single player campaign and a fleshed out multiplayer mode (devloped by DICE), it seems clear that EA have pulled out all the stops in order to create an experience that is comparable to the Call of Duty series.

Activision have faced a couple problems regarding the series’ future due to a severe conflict of interests, arguably giving EA an advantage and an opportunity to reclaim the crown yet again. Is it possible for the ageing series to convince Call of Duty’s established following otherwise? Only time will tell.

I guess this Medal of Honor is gonna be of lesser quality than Bad Company 2
