Not one to shy away from controversy, Activision have launched a new advertising campaign for their beloved Modern Warfare 2 featuring a rather randy old gentleman who repeatedly talks about the happenings of the game’s multiplayer in a sexually implicit manner.

The video was watered down for broadcasting, but you can view the extended version exclusive to Youtube in the above video.

So there you have it, conclusive evidence that Activision are indeed run by a bunch of misguided, immature eight-year-olds. Yes, it’s terribly juvenile but it still made me chuckle given that I am also eight.

It’s no secret I’m fond of indie games. That’s why I’m sort of bummed about this announcement because I’m not a PS3 owner. However, for all of you lucky dogs out there who are, Mediatonic announced today that their new platformer Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess will be available on the Playstation Network on April 22nd. It’ll be available on both the PS3 and the PSP (hooray!),  with a price point of only $5.99.

Take your PS3 on the Go!
By: | April 7th, 2010

I’ve often joked about taking the PS3 with me to work so I can sneak in some Katamari rollin, but my phat model is a bit too bulky to haul around inconspicuously. The Slim model, however, is smaller, lighter, and with a little help could easily be a portable system, right? Apparently so, because on May 27th, Hori is releasing an attachable 11 inch high-def LCD monitor and speakers for the PS3 slim models.

Of course it’s only being released in Japan, and although it’s unlikely that it’ll make it outside of the country, it’s supposed to work on NTSC and PAL units alike, so you could import it just fine.  Now, just imagine this scene… a PSPgo in every pocket and a PS3go in every backpack. Unless I’m mistaken, welcome to the future!

There have been few games quite as polarising as Heavy Rain this generation. While some scathed its claims to be the next leap in interactive entertainment, I thoroughly enjoyed it despite some of its apparent flaws – the pause menu alone was simply dazzling. Despite the game’s charting success, Quantic Dream has already ruled out the possibility of a direct sequel and will instead release a series of episodic downloads entitled Heavy Rain Chronicles, each focusing on a particular character from the full game.

Starring lead protagonist Madison Paige, Episode One: The Taxidermist finds the feisty young journalist on the trail of a possible link to the Origami Killer named Leland White (a taxidermist as you might have guessed) who resides in a secluded, horror-movie-esque house. And, predictably, all is not what it seems.

In the crazy world of game development, making a full-length game is only part of the picture. Without a publisher’s support to distribute and promote a title, it can be nearly impossible for an independent studio to gather the resources and know-how to take their game to market. This was the pickle that Atomic Games found themselves in last year, when Konami pulled their support for Six Days in Fallujah amidst crys from those who felt the subject matter and treatment were disrespectful to those who served in the military, both past and present.

With so much time and technology invested in the title already, what was a studio like Atomic to do? Why, strip the game down for parts and build a new title in a different direction, of course. At PAX East, the Gamer Limit crew got their hands on the recently announced Breach, and found both the game tech and business strategy to be intriguing.

I learned a few things this past weekend at PAX East. First of all, Copenhagen is actually a city in Denmark and not just a brand of chewing tobacco for truckers. Second, there are some amazing things happening in game development there.

Danish developer PLAYDEAD (they develop games, btw, not danishes) was on the show floor in Boston to demo and promote the XBLA version of their IGF finalist darling, Limbo. Positioned as an afterthought to the perpetually line-generating Crackdown 2 demo, a lone kiosk with a single representative smiling slyly in the background was consistently drawing a crowd of gamers throughout the show. Once I got my hands on the game, I quickly discovered why.

What do you get when you cross TF2 with Law Abiding Citizen? Without a doubt the best (non-official) Team Fortress 2 Machinima I have ever seen.

If only the movie that the trailer is based on was as good.
