It’s no secret I’m fond of indie games. That’s why I’m sort of bummed about this announcement because I’m not a PS3 owner. However, for all of you lucky dogs out there who are, Mediatonic announced today that their new platformer Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess will be available on the Playstation Network on April 22nd. It’ll be available on both the PS3 and the PSP (hooray!),  with a price point of only $5.99.

It’s a unique upward scrolling platformer that sees you taking control of Duke, a vampire demon who is of course, looking for his princess. The humor in the game is top notch and the gameplay promises to be addicting, with combos that allow Duke to perform a handful of wicked moves on that nasty princess-nabbing monsters.

Writer and designer Jim Griffiths said, “Our goal was to create a game that was accessible and fun, supported by a story and characters that make you laugh – or at least crack a grin, so we’ve worked really hard to cram as much humour and attention to detail as we could into every aspect of ‘Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess!’, and now we’re very much hoping this effort translates into something players will really appreciate and enjoy!”

Who wouldn’t enjoy that premise, Jim? I’ll be nabbing this one on my PSP as soon as its released later this month.

  1. I’m gonna get this on the PS3 and record me playing it on the 42inch and just laughing. And that’ll be waiting in your inbox on April 23rd. :D

    I really, really like it.

  3. Huh, it reminds me of a game I have on my iPod touch where you have to keep this squid jumping up from platform to platform while avoiding things. Why exactly (or how, for that matter) a Squid is jumping through space is beyond me, but the game is amusing. I might get this if I put some money on my PSN account by then.
