Sony have confirmed that the first wave of 3D-enabled games will be made available on the PSN Store in June, with WipEout HD, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD being the first games to take the plunge into the third dimension.
Furthermore, to coincide with the launch of their new HX803-series Bravia 3DTV, the first 3DTV for Europe, Sony also announced that early adopters of the new Bravia set will be able to download the four aforementioned games for free as a special offer. The promotion currently applies to European territories only however, and the HX803 will be available in 40″ and 46″ screen sizes with pricing details yet to be confirmed.
The only snag is that MotorStorm: Pacific Rift will be restricted as a playable demo, PAIN will only comprise of 3 episodes and Super Stardust HD will be devoid of previously released DLC.
So then, 3D gaming: excited yet? Anyone?
I’m moderately optimistic about this. I mean, we actually have the technology to do it this time, and if people will pay for it, it will inevitably get made.
I don’t need a 40″ screen right now, though. 28″ is pushing it.
I can’t wait for that headache… oh wait. Yes I can! And will!!!!!
But be careful if your not a sim fan, then it might? be bad for you, if you loved hot puursit don’t get it, if you loved NFS shift then get it.
