Between yesterday and today, loose lips have been sinking the ship at Infinity Ward.  While details are scarce, two studio heads have been terminated from their positions.

The news was first brought to the public’s attention when G4 reported that studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West met with Activision and neither were seen again… by the staff.  Reportedly, relations between the developer and publishers have been fairly tense, and all hell broke loose yesterday afternoon when “a bunch of bouncer-types” appeared outside their offices.

An SEC filing was released from Activision stating:

The Company is concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward.  This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation. At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company.

The SEC filing is usually the result of a serious lawsuit regarding a person’s behavior or wrong doings behind company policy.

According to employment details of Jason West and Vince Zampella’s Linked In accounts, it seems as those two are the unfortunate victims to get the axe.  Right now a lot of the details are a bit cloudy, but stay tuned as the ordeal starts to surface more throughout the week.

  1. When you look at this on top of yesterday’s fan-made King’s Quest cease and desist, Activision is looking to be some pretty shady characters….

  2. I really hope it’s because they told Activision to shove a subscription model up their asses. After all, if there was one studio that would have seemed to be untouchable, it would be IW. These two guys played huge rolls in the COD games they made, gotta wonder how that will effect the next MW game if they handle it.

  3. Activision sure likes to fuck up a lot
