It doesn’t seem too long ago at all since we were all traversing the barren wastelands of Bethesda’s Fallout 3, helped in part by the continued release of DLC after the initial game, but the franchise hasn’t been sitting on its hands for very long.

A new teaser trailer (a fancy name for a video which shows you a lot of nothing very much) has been placed on the official¬†website for everyone (so long as you’re over 18) to watch and debate on what they imagine will feature in the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas.

From what the trailer shows, it’s a bit hard to make any concrete claims. What is perhaps most interesting is the apparently not-entirely-destroyed city in the background of the video, suggesting that this game will possibly feature a more conventional settlement in which the player can continue the previous game’s pastimes of killing, lying, stealing (or helping, if you’re a more respectable person). It would be pointless to look to much further into the video, as we all know how vague and misleading some of them can be.

You can find the teaser trailer, with some other details on the upcoming game (slated for ‘Fall 2010′) on Bethesda’s website.

  1. Post-apocalyptic Las Vegas? Sign me up!

  2. I really hope this lives up to the hype I’ve created in my head. I’m really looking forward to seeing a little gameplay footage.

  3. I was completely shocked when the camera panned out and it looked like New Vegas is a fully functioning city. I am most definitely intrigued now.

  4. Oh my god yes. I want above want.

  5. This is by far the game I’m most interested in this year.

  6. I’d love to apply all the actions I performed in Fallout 3 to a real metropolis with, say, a working police force. Definitely looking forward to this one.

  7. The beginning of that clip has WALL-E written all over it.

  8. I thought the same thing Simon!

  9. @Simon
Wall-E is one of the greatest films ever created :D

I wasn’t interested in New Vegas at all before this, but now I’m actually quite intrigued. Zomg, the city is still lit up even after post-apocalyptic events!

  10. I was a sucker for exploring more of the world in F3, so regardless of gameplay footage which I’ve yet to see, intrigued about this. Hell, the gameplay can’t really be worse than Bethesda’s attempts, so maybe I’ll love this game…excited already, bring on “Fall” whenever that is…
