High Voltage Software, developers of the close-but-no-cigar The Conduit, have two major projects on their hand currently: The Grinder and Gladiator A.D.. Concerning the latter, this latest press release reveals that not only will Sega once again be handling publishing duties but also the game has seen a slight title change.

Tournament of Legends used to be a bloody and rather dull-looking Roman gladiator 3D fighter. Now it has been tweaked to include a cast of colorful characters from world mythology such as minotaurs and valkyries. Still, it’s a toss-up whether this game will be anything special or another HVS bust.

Tournament of Legends will be released for Wii on May 18th, 2010.

The Limitcast is back, and better than ever. Join myself, Chase Cook, Shawn Evans, and special guest Sean Patrick Carey as we get down and dirty with Mass Effect 2-  but don’t worry, we used protection – totally spoiler free.

We also bounce around some of the latest news, and allow Shawn to vent all his frustrations regarding Dark Void that he wasn’t able to squeeze into his review. Later in the show we invite Chris Carter to join us to discuss No More Heroes 2 – stay tuned.

The Team Fortress 2 WAR update has been the largest update to TF2 yet, with both the Demoman and the Soldier receiving new unlocks and a bloody war in which to participate, not to mention the massive community contributions that went into making the WAR update a successful one.

In addition to updating the game, Valve ran a propaganda contest for the artists of the community to submit their best works. After receiving a whopping 11,000 entries, the team finally had a chance to go through them and pick out the cream of the crop. While the winners have already been announced, the runners up show just how hard a decision the TF2 team had when it came to picking out just three.

Overdoing It: Boobies!
By: | February 2nd, 2010

It’s been a while since the first instalment of Overdoing It hit your lovely faces, so I thought it was just about time to fill up your spank banks thirsty minds. If you want to check out part one of the series, you can head over to Overdoing It: Sequelmania.

I think it’s safe to say that, despite the burgeoning number of females in the gaming market, there are still enough guys around to warrant a bit of sexy time in video games. Men thrive off sexually-driven material, let’s be honest, and when coupled with the interactive nature of games, it can get ridiculously easy for developers to pop out the odd tit or two in order to increase sales.

But when does eye candy turn into mere exploitation for profit? And can we even call unclothed pixels exploitation? Follow me as I attempt to unveil how some developers are skirting the line between good-humored entertainment and full-blown pornography.

Last year I turned the world of video game unboxing videos upside down when I created my own personal unboxing video for the PSPgo.  Well it appears that those crafty game designers over at 2K Games have seen my incredible piece of cinematic brilliance, and have decided to one-up it with their own Bioshock 2 Special Edition unboxing video.

I must admit that the beginning of their video starts out as you would typically expect, with some random person boringly taking everything out of the box, but by the end they take it to a whole new level.  Trust me when I say you need to watch this, as it’s just pure comedic genius. Read more… »

Today used game trade-in kiosks maker e-Play announced that they have suspended operations, and consequently will be shutting down all of its kiosks at Best Buy and Walmart locations. Some of you may remember, way back in May, when e-Play announced that it will be testing these kiosks at various Walmart and Best Buy locations around the U.S..

Upon investigation of the e-Play website, all I found was the statement, “e-Play, LLC has suspended operations. Thank you to all our customers. For more information call 1-866-602-6014.” Read more… »

When I came to sit down and bust this review out, I thought I had a general idea of how it would appear, but when I finally put the pen to my legal pad (yeah, I’m old school), I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what to say. It’s hard to put this experience into a clearcut statement, that is, until the epiphany hit me: playing No More Heroes 2 is like stepping into the best god damn B-Movie ever created.

Yeah, that’s right – better than Delta Force. Read more… »

It’s finally here folks.  The hugely anticipated third Xbox Live Arcade title from acclaimed developer The Behemoth has a name, and that name is BattleRock Theater.  Following past hits Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater has a lot to live up to.

The announcement of the title came via The Behemoth devblog, and features the tagline, “A story about friendship, betrayal, and a whole truck load of cats.”  If that’s not a premise one can rally behind, then I don’t know what is.  Here is the blog post, followed by the first official trailer for the game.  Enjoy! A press release from The Pokemon Company has finally been translated by Bulbagarden, and points to another new Pokemon RPG title being planned for 2010.  This would be in addition to Pokemon: SoulSilver and Pokemon: HeartGold, the two remakes of the classic Gold and Silver entries in the series.

According to the press release, the Pokemon team is hard at work on what they are calling an “inventive rebirth” for the series. Accompanying the press release was a blog entry from Junichi Masuda, long time composer and recently appointed director of the Pokemon video games.  That blog entry is shown below, followed by the press release, both in their (now translated) entirety. Why hello, I didn’t see you there. Let me take the bubble pipe out of my mouth, step away from this stone fireplace, and sit in that old-timey chair, which just happens to match my smoking jacket. Ahhh, there we go. Comfort!

Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Mark, the new Community Promoter and weekly recapper. Yes, much like a stranger on Halloween, you can count on me to hand out delicious candy; except, with my recaps you don’t have to get dressed or check for razor blades (unless you really want to). Why post a recap you say? Well, we know that you hate clicking more than two buttons to find anything on the web, so that’s why I’m paid to help you catch up on articles, reviews, and the forums each and every week.

Wait, what was that Colin? I don’t get paid for this… seriously? Oh. I didn’t realize that was the volunteer application. Well can I get the non-volunteer one? It’s contractually binding!? Well, great. Guess I’d better get on with the recap then, and try to get my day job back tomorrow.
