Of course Microsoft paid the developer money to keep this off the PC. Notice the price for the game on the xbox - $79 !!!!!! On a PC this would have gone for around 50 bucks (the typical price for a triple a title on a PC).

In the end, Microsoft and the developer will LOSE money. They will make a fast buck quick, but with all the other platforms out there, the WII, the PS3 and the PC, they are shutting themselves into a corner.

The xbox 360 is YEARS old, and is lightyears behind the technology in a PC (6 cores, 12 processing streatms) and the mighty Nvidia GX 480.
With full directx 11 support including hardware testulation.

It's a big financial mistake and hurts gaming on all platforms.

PC Gaming "has been on the way out" for years now...yet it's still here, and good developers are still making great games for it. Right now, my Steam cue is brimming with games I have yet to play.

It's not even a niche market either....as even 2-3 year PCs can easily outres and outframe anything on the 360 or the PS3. Since multi-platform releases aim for the console lowest common denominator...even old PCs can run games like Mass Effect 2 easily at high quality and higher than 360 resolutions, in addition to better textures.

If Alan Wake doesn't come to the PC (I didn't expect it to since last year based on them saying they were focusing development on the 360), I simply won't buy it. Pretty simple, huh? It's their loss. There are too many good games out there for me to really care.

I guess 360 owners now have that much more of an incentive for 2010; at the expense of cutting off the patient PC gamers

That's really interesting, Shawn. I would have never guessed that. I know MW2 for PC did receive a massive amount of piracy and it's still going on today. I wonder how console and PC piracy taper off after time.

Even though I planned on playing this on 360 the entire time, I agree entirely with what Alex said.
