It has been known for some time that a non-profit, fan created 3D remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is in the works.  While this is a long and difficult process, “MithosKuu” (the person behind the remake) has been keeping a running blog of the games progress, and things are starting to come together.

As of this past Monday, the finishing touches were going in to what Mithos believed to be the final house interior. Screens (some of which can be seen below, along with the header image) look pretty great, reminiscent of some 3D remakes seen recently on the Nintendo DS.

On the blog, there is a list of milestones to be met, as well as a link to download a “Proof of Concept” demo.  It’s certainly rough, but holds a lot of promise.

Keep an eye on MithosKuu’s blog for continued updates.  If this actually surfaces in completed form, I think most of us can agree it will be something to cheer about.

  1. Nintendo generally leaves fan projects alone, so I’m hopeful for this one.

  2. I love the utilization of pale Gameboy colors

  3. I really hope Nintendo lets them get by with this. As long as it’s a free project, they haven’t messed with stuff in the past… I’ll just keep telling myself that as I try to stop the drooling over this project.

Do you know where I can get the tools to do this kinda stuff?

I like getting the letters, but please tend not to go telling folks they are heading to obtain about one a week. We have been lucky to get one particular a month. You need to do a little better than that….or stop the pinocchio stories at the incredibly least. If a single a month is what it is, then that’s what it is.
