Surely True Crime was one of the first sandbox games to adopt a 'karma' aspect?

Great write up, guys. As technology gets better sandbox games will only be better at satisfying a gamer's cravings for destruction. Red Faction: Guerrilla was a great step forward.

Does Shadow of the Colossus even count as a "sandbox" game? There's nothing to do in the world itself other than heavy exploration, but the world lent itself to some incredibly immersive gameplay.

Other than Grand Theft Auto and Assassin's Creed, I haven't played any of these games that I can remember. However, after reading this, I'm definitely going to check a few of these titles out.

Sandbox games are incredibly interesting, and this was a great topic for an article. Really helps people, like me, that didn't know about some of these games.

I just wish every game had destructible environments...then it'd have some sort of amusement factor regardless of how bad it was!

Nice to see Infamous getting some love; It was mostly overlooked, but a strong title considering that it was a console exclusive.
