Today publishers bitComposer Games and Viva Media announced that the third iteration in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, dubbed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, will arrive in North America on February 2.
For those of you who missed out on the previous two S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles, the game is a PC exclusive open-world FPS set in an alternate history after the Chernobyl Disaster. Players are tasked with fending off paramilitary groups, various mutants, and raiders. Think of it as a less apocalyptic Fallout.
Developer GSC Game World has previously stated that Call of Pripyat will have similar gameplay to Shadow of Chernobyl rather than Clear Sky. GSC has also stated that Call of Pripyat will contain true-to-life locales such as Pripyat town, Yanov railway station, Jupiter factory, Kopachi village and more. Other features includes: improved A-Life system, a new player interface, a brand new story and a number of unique characters, 2 new monsters and behaviour and abilities, an extended system of side quests, a sleep function and a free play mode.

It’s a little sad that no one has commented about this great news yet. STALKER was an incredible game, and the sequel deserves a lot of attention.
