With The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks on the verge of release, rumors have been running rife about what could feature in the next Zelda release for Nintendo Wii.

The Guardian sat down with Eiji Aonuma, current director for the popular series, and his response to questions about possible travel methods for Link were none too subtle.

Read on to find out what he had to say.

“I have an eight-year-old son myself at home, and quite recently he started playing The Phantom Hourglass for DS, because when the software first hit the market he was too young.

“When he started playing with the boat, I told him: ‘In the next Zelda, you are going to be able to ride on the train.’ He answered: ‘OK, Dad, first boat, and then train? Surely next time, Link is going to fly in the sky…”

Aonuma then gave a grin before continuing:

“I just don’t know. If many people make many speculations… some of them might be correct. Right now, I have to refrain from commenting on anything.”

  1. Remember that TERRIBLE flying mini-game in Twilight Princess? This had better turn out better than that… MotionPlus alone won’t save you, Zelda!

  2. Reguardless ever zelda offering is minimally descent, can’t wait to see whats in store in the next installment.

  3. Instead of turning into a wolf Link could turn into a hawk. That could be totally bad ass if done right.

  4. @Nick
Ah man: I blocked that from my memory!
