Get a crash cart!  PC gaming is flatlining!  The former titan is reeling and consoles are set to pull the plug.  But what got us here?  Did developers and publishers abandon an already sinking ship, or has their absence brought about the end of an era?  Maybe gamers have migrated?  Whatever the reason, we plan to get to the bottom of it.

staaaaaaaats

Recently, on Valve’s  L4D2 forums there has been a small uproar over the last 48 hours, as Steam gamers realized that their hard earned Left 4 Dead 2 achievements have been vanishing.

Could this be the work of a stat stealing zombie, or just glitchy code?

Sonic LBP

SEGA + Sony = yet another reason to sink more money into LittleBigPlanet DLC.

On December 17, you’ll be able to download Sackboy costumes of Sonic, Werehog Sonic, Tails, Dr. Eggman (I miss good ol’ Robotnik), and Knuckles, either individually or in a pack.  No price yet, but expect the usual.

Nice to see Media Molecule continue to support their titles instead of releasing Left 4 Dead 2 a mere year after the first title, effectively removing it from additional DLC consideration.  Oh, that wasn’t MM?  My bad…

Free-Game Friday: Gravity Bone
By: | November 20th, 2009

Gravity Bone screen2

[Free-Game Friday is a weekly feature in which a writer from the Gamer Limit staff looks at a completely free game and discusses his/her experience with it, allowing you to download it at the end. Feel free to check out our full schedule right here!]

Every once in a while, a game will come along that tells a story in the most obscure way possible.  There will be Charlie Brown’s teacher-style dialogue; the characters will look like they were assembled with building blocks; you will be a spy… I think.  It’s hard to tell what’s going on, honestly.

This time, that game is Gravity Bone.  It’s free, and it’s a sublime gaming experience.

On November 18, 2009, Sony officially started selling their PlayStation 2 console in Brazil.  That’s only a nine-year wait.  Not too shabby.

The kicker: it’ll retail for R$799, or about US$465, and the fourteen games available at launch will cost R$119 ($66) or R$99 ($55).

Hit the jump for the press release and additional details.

Retro Reunion: Paper Mario
By: | November 19th, 2009

Paper Mario Box Art

[Every Thursday is Retro Day here at Gamer Limit. We seek out the greatest moments of yesteryear simply for your pleasure, so be sure to check back each week to relive the glorious days. Feel free to check out our full schedule right here!]

I have a confession to make: I am not the biggest fan of Super Mario RPG. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike the game by any stretch; it was beautiful, a neat concept for combat, and was an excellent game for a younger crowd. However, I don’t personally see the draw to it that other people do.

On the other hand, we have the Paper Mario series, which does a lot more to make an experience that’s truly memorable. It also has a unique aesthetic, while taking the combat of SMRPG to new heights. On top of that, the story and dialogue, while not epic, is at least fun, humorous, and entertaining – even if you’re an adult.

Mass: We Pray

When I first stumbled across this video, I was certain that Mass: We Pray was simply a parody that some semi-hilarious nerds created in their WoW off-time. However, upon further investigation, it seems that this game could very well be plausible.

“A family shouldn’t have to wait until Sunday to worship the Lord. Now you can go to church every day without leaving your home.” With a tagline like that, how could this game not succeed?

Read to take a look at the frightening promotional video regarding this (possibly) upcoming Wii game.
