Ode to Minions

Many of us have spent countless hours slaughtering the hordes of enemies in video games who get in our way.  We snuff them out of existence in a heart beat, yet all they were doing was performing a task someone else ordered them to do.  Those goombas and piranha plants are someone’s mother, father, son, daughter, brother, or maybe even sister, but we never stop to consider that.

Matthew Taranto, who writes the online comic Brawl in the Family, cares about all those dead enemies and their families.  To celebrate his 200th comic he’s actually written a song dedicated to them entitled “Ode to Minions.” It’s a heartfelt tune about all those hard working bad guys who are simply trying to work a 9-to-5 day job to put food on the table.

Come on inside to watch the “Ode to Minions” music video.  You’ll never look at bad guys the same way again.

While “Ode to Minions” was written by Matthew Taranto, it was performed with the help of his entire family, including his dad, mom, brother, and girlfriend.  If you are interested in more of his work, you can visit brawlinthefamily.com and view his other 199 comic entries.  Trust me when I say they are worth a look.  I personally can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

  1. So much work put into this. Old school.

  2. This reminds me of the discussion in “Clerks” of the many innocent contractors and construction workers that were killed when the Deathstar was destroyed again while under construction.

Maybe you are right about the take over thing.don’t know.About the Paladin’s worth. Actually i was thinking that the soul’s worth has not extclay something to do with how good the soul is (and i think the taste neither.) .I think Paladin and cleric’s Soul are more worth because they are servant’s of there god.Not only are this soul’s probatly harder to get cause they are in Servitude of other high beeings b4,the whole thing is also like stealing worker’s from a rival company and in this seems to be much more appreciate in the underworld and from the higher demons.Sure a simple hero who does actually killing evil demons and destroying they plans might be also worth a little more then Pala’s.So if you see it like this, i don’t think the Archer or barbarien woul be more worth, cause they don’t have actually done anything to be worth. They seem to me more like mercenary’s than actually hero’s , having just a good alignment isn’t enough
