ITT: Kids whose parents buy their games for them talking about how L4D2 is worth the money.

Also: People who work for a living and value what little extra money they have talking about how it should have been an expansion.

Your logic has more plot holes than a Michael Bay movie.

How about we give credit to this game instead of dissing it for being what you all claim L4D1 "should have been." Sure - maybe L4D1 wasn't the most complete game, but that doesn't mean this game's review rankings should suffer.

This is a must buy if you love good online action!

I'd agree that Left 4 Dead 2 didn't blow me away. It was a nice, polished game, but it felt like what Left 4 Dead 1 should have been. But that's not to say the game wasn't great on it's own merits!

I sat down and played L4D2 for a few hours this weekend and I have to say I was sorely unimpressed by what I saw. I'm not saying that the game is bad, but its just "L4D1.5". There simply is not enough new content in this game to justify it being a brand new release, I'll go as far as saying Halo ODST has much more justification as full retail game then L4D2. Okay, there's melee weapons, a couple new guns, and two new monsters... hoo-fricken-rah, this should be a $20 expansion for the original game and not a full retail sequel.

i have to disagree on the dlc argument. I think people believe that if this was released as dlc it would all be free for everyone which based on the way valve updated TF2 on the pc i can understand. But from a console perspective dlkc costs money so lets look at the basic concept. crash course was dlc and cost 600 ms points for two chapters. L4D2 is 23 chapters, two new play modes, with 4 new playable charcters and 3 new playable zombies, plus double the weapons & melee which based on the 600 MS points means that this dlc wether served up all at once or eeked out would cost around 8000 microsoft points.

i cannot fathom an argument that says that left 4 dead 2 is not enough value for a full retail game around the $50 price point but should instead of been $100 dollars of dlc.

I would(and have) also argue that the game while fundamentaly the same feels so radically different than the original in pace, chaoticness and action that if this had been released as dlc it would of felt wrong top play. personally for me it did not have the x factor that the first had, but there is no doubt in my mind should be a seperate entity to the first.

I really want to get this game, but I only played the original L4D for about a month or so, and then never touched it again. If there is really nothing revolutionary about the new game, as you say Curtis, than I doubt I'll enjoy this one anymore than the previous one.
