I like your dual review and I have in favour of good one because this is one of my favorite RPG game so far. I have also tried it's second part but that is not good as first original one. I have played it on my PC because I don't have any console, I have gaming PC.

I found overall battles rather easy, and minuplated with the use of select spells, even playing it on nightmare setting. I have lots background experiance in tons of games, I could honestly say at age of 24... I probably have 5 years of game play time (that means time playing, not how long)

Been while since I picked game up, since I over played it 120-150 hours or so in it, really worth buying, but I was forced use mods on pc version to get full enjoyment out of it.

I found with few spells (forget names and that) but the basic... one you could give yourself god mode but you couldn't attack... you just taunt first then cast it... or cast it in postion that blocks doorway/hall and have ur mages nuke/cast over/through the walls.

@ Satsui you said you played on easy, which would make this game ton easier... since on that setting you don't get hurt by your own AoE skills. Yes they start of game before you get your first healer. After that the game becomes alot easier to play.

My coworker has it for his PS3 Slim, and there are significant difference to my PC version. If your home computer is even half decent, this is one of the titles that plays much better on the computer, which will also allow you to run mods.

I purchased this game for the PS3 as a pre buy. I couldn't be happier! I received 2 special in game items for purchasing early and 2 special in game items for buying through Amazon.com. I've played through 4 or the origin stories so far. I can already tell that I will play through the other 2, but I am trying to finish the game through at least once. I like games with good replayability and this ranks right up there with Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Sacred and Sacred 2. As with any RPG, I save often and have not had issues w/ dying yet. Of course, that could be because I add points to my health each time I level up.

Well Paul, why not just manually save more often? Or maybe you could cure your depression by picking up a new hobby.

Whilst it does save before major fights, it isn't always a boss you'll die on and having to replay an hour because of poor checkpoints is a bit depressing.

@Satsui
Saving often is a good tip, but it does auto-save before every major fight :D

Great game, and great coverage, gentlemen!

I only had two gripes (playing the PS3 version) --
1. No isometric view on consoles.
2. No ability to queue up multiple commands for party members. Even KOTOR had this ability.

That being said, I haven't played anything else since I got it. This game completely exceeded my expectations.

You may want to mention this game isn't for casual gamers.

This game is great and all but I'm not a hard-core gamer and this is definitely a hard game, even on Easy. I never played Balder's Gate or Mass Effect or any MMORPG, so I guess I'm at a disadvantage. I am clueless when it comes to Tactics and find myself restarting each fight a good 10-20 times. To be honest, I was hoping to set this on easy and breeze through the game and get the story down before going into a harder difficulty. At this rate, I may not even finish because I'm truly stuck at 3 hours in the game. Out of frustration, I may just not continue all together.

My tip to anyone though, save often. After any major dialog or fight, save!

Great review, guys. I'm sure I would love the PC fighting system more if I had a decent computer, but as it stands I'm more than happy playing it on the 360. My GOTY by a long shot, so far.
