Just minutes ago we published how hackers (via the dev console) discovered you can change the signal bars into numeric bars, well now one of those crafty hackers has discovered three additional game modes hidden in Modern Warfare 2.
Read on after the jump for how to unlock, Global Thermonuclear War, One Flag CTF and the VIP mode.
Step 1: Download and activate the console hack. More information about that can be found here:

Step 2: Start a private match, preferably using the console.
Step 3: Once in the game, enter one of the following commands (without the quotes):
“/set g_gametype gtnw”
“/set g_gametype oneflag”
“/set g_gametype vip”
Step 4: Try to play.

If it isn’t working, try this: after entering the command to change the gametype, enter the command /map_restart
The first gametype – “gtnw” – is Global Thermonuclear War. To play, simply capture the objective: a nuclear bomb. When captured, the bomb detonates…
The second gametype – “oneflag” – is One Flag CTF. To play, capture the flag in the middle and bring it back to your base.
The third gametype – “vip” – is VIP. To play, defend the VIP. Or, if you’re on the other team, kill the VIP.
These gametypes were only tested on Afghan and Favela. They may not work for all maps.”
It’s currently unknown if Infinity Ward are planning these game modes to be upcoming DLC, or they are just buggy game modes that they couldn’t get ready for release. Either way IW are censoring any posts about them on the official forums.

It’s far more likely it’s just abandoned code. Honestly, it’s like anything goes to crucify IW at the moment, and it’s getting *beep* tedious fast. Play the game or play something else. It really is that simple.
so that means that people have bought a game that already has the “DLC” on it? Why not just give us the full game…? $60 dollars is a lot and they’re already making a gigantic profit off that. The money for the DLC will just go into the pockets of the *beep* CEO.
Agreed with ZG, it really seems like people are trying to go to great lengths and crucify IW.
I’d be wary of trying to use these as Steam has started banning people for using hacks off the callofdutyhacks.com site. They might consider these along the same lines?
People may remember that they did a free update to their playlists in the first modern warfare. They maybe planning on the same thing this time around.

Both are pointless and sucky, but at least they’re giving us something.
FourZeroTwo (the creative head guy at IW) has heard the plea for First-Person Cage Match and Team Tactical. Dunno if they’ll add them, but he knows.
If it is redundent code then there’s no problem but if IW turn around and want to charge for these modes later on they should be reported to trading standards IMO
surely double charging for a product would be against the law?
I enjoy Mosh Pit, it gives a great deal of random, making each match much more exciting.
It is likely just abandoned code, or it may end up as a free update when they finalize it. Unlikely to be apart of DLC. Any DLC will likely be new maps like they usually are.
Maybe just a patch? I know they are *beep* hungry for money but they wouldn’t charge you for new game modes, would they? VIP and Thermonuclear thingy sounds good but I don’t give a crap about the one flag capture the flag! But I’ll admit it there is nothing worse than when you’ve captured the flag and you’re returning home and then out of nowhere some guy popps out and takes your flag and kills you and then there is nothing worse then just as you spawn you see that you loose the game because the score limit was reached! That has happened to me loads of time on COD4 and WW but only once on MW2!
Hey finners! Capcom did it with RE5. They made you pay £5 a week after the launch for a human vs human game mode which was 6KBS!!! It just unlocked it for you!!! I got the CE (EU) version of R&C ACIT and I got the Insomniac Moon and that was 101KBS!!!
