Rapping on the gates of hell, Visceral Games is turning up the heat by letting its fans get a glimpse of the first of nine levels in Dante’s Inferno. The demo will be relased to the public next month for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
In the game, Dante has to traverse through nine levels of fire and brimstone in order to rescue his love. The demo will feature hell’s nastiest demons, as well as the first boss, Death. How do you kill Death and if he’s the first boss, I hate to think who the last eight are.
In a statement reiterated by Kotaku, executive producer Jordan Knight had this to say:
“Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell… The demo will give everyone some insight into how we are treating the story and a taste of the gameplay. And with nine more circles of hell to explore once the game comes out in February, we are literally just scratching the surface.”
Will the fury of hell be too much for you to handle? Worry not, because you can warm up to the game with the demo just around the corner. The full retail version will be released February 9, 2010 in North America and Feb. 12 in Europe.

I think I’m gonna have to try this demo out. I’m reasonably interested in this game.

It’s going to be a God of War clone, with better backdrops, and worse mechanics, I think.

I’m intrigued to play the whole game, mostly for “oohs” and “ahs” at the art and modelling that went into the game, as nothing from the snippet I played at Eurogamer Expo made me think anything except “well, this like a not so good God of War”
