psp go1 540x2301 PSP Go reduced to £148.99 at HMV

Who wants to adopt a PSP Go? Previously, you would have to have more money than sense to consider such an obligation, but now you can own one for the more reasonable price of £148.99. All you have to do is live in the UK and visit your local HMV retailer – not to sound like an intrusive advertisement, but that’s £76 off of the RRP! Wow!

It’s a similar story for Dj Hero, too, which has been slashed down to just £69.99.

These deals are not likely to last long, so it would be advisable to trek down to HMV if any of the above are on your Christmas list while stocks last.

Edit: at the time of writing the PSP Go has reverted back to £199.99.

New Super Mario Bros Wii tops Amazons wishlist

While the claim that the Nintendo Wii will never rival the the PS3 and Xbox 360 remains true in certain aspects, it’s an utter lie where it counts the most: sales.  According to the US and UK Amazon websites, their “Most Wished For in Video Games” has the New Super Mario Brothers Wii at the top of the list.

More surprising is that four Wii products fill the top four spots in the US, including the Wii console at its unchanged price of $199.99.  All the while, Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 duke it out for the second and third spot in the UK. Read more… »

header2 Gamer Limit Review: Dungeons & Dragons Online

Free to play (F2P) MMORPGs are often considered to be the delinquents in the genre, a sub-section that is always considered the Robin to its Batman.  In essence, it’s also like a baby bird, still too young and undervalued to make it on its own.

Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) was launched in 2006, originally starting its life via a pay to play subscription model but suffered from bugs and negative feedback.  Since becoming a F2P in September 2009, Turbine announced that their subscriptions have increased by 40%, proving that free games can be a viable option for a business. There are, however, micro-transactions, which begs the question: is it really free and is it worth your time?

The King of Fighters, SNK’s flagship series, is getting a movie.  Of course, it looks just awful.

Why?  Because it threw away everything that was certifiably KoF and slapped on a cheap science fiction aesthetic.  Bleh.

See the new trailer above.  At least Uwe Boll isn’t directing it.
