Yesterday it was announced that testing would start for the final instance in the current expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

“We are scheduling a raid test for Icecrown Citadel tomorrow at 7pm EDT/4pm PDT for the two US PTR Servers. Lord Marrowgar, the first boss of the raid zone, will be available for testing. The trash leading up to him will also be ready for testing.”

“The Icecrown Citadel raid test schedule will be very flexible, and can change at a moment’s notice due to build status, bugs, and server issues. Remember that this is the test server, so things can, do, and will break from time to time. Check this forum for the latest US Icecrown Citadel raid testing schedule information in the weeks to come.

The EU region will have a different raid testing schedule, which I will announce on their forums in the near future as I have further information and more bosses are ready for testing.” – Daelo

Every guild that streamed a PTR video took down Lord Marrowgar. This makes me ponder as to the structure they are giving this raid. They may decide to have a system with Icecrown that mimics Ulduar. All bosses in the first section of the instance could be taken down with ease.

This system meant that a higher majority of players would be able get inside the instance and attempt it before moving onto another expansion. In the Burning Crusade, the final instance, Sunwell Plateau, was only played by less than 5% of the entire population of the game.

The design for the instance looks very interesting so to round this news off, here is some screenshots and art.

  1. There’s something about defeating the might Arthas that just feels wrong. He’s such an important character in WoW lore, that it just seems wrong for him to be able to be defeated.

  2. I suspect they wont let him be defeated, isn’t he at a godlike level?

  3. I agree with both of you. I do not think they will allow Arthas to be defeated. I think he will drop a chest and run away, or something along those lines.

That is what I think they should have done with Illidan too but nevermind, the past is the past :)

  4. I’m not sure how I feel about WoW anymore, I quit a few months ago but these new patches tempt me to return to 4-5 hour raid nights.

Honestly the defeat of Arthas will probably cause him to come back to the good side. IE, Thorim.
