The funny thing about Left 4 Dead 2 on PC and Left 4 Dead 2 on Xbox 360 is that they share a bunch of the same files… including Xbox 360-exclusive Avatar Awards. On the PC, they’re just relegated to a hidden text file.
So, in much the same way that San Andreas‘s “Hot Coffee” mod was discovered, PC Steam users have delved into the seedy underbelly of L4D2 and revealed the yet-to-be-revealed Xbox 360 Avatar Awards.
Here’s the list, straight from Adrenaline Vault:
- Med Kit – Unlock the Med Kit by beating all five campaigns on any skill level.
- Frying Pan – Unlock the Frying Pan by killing 10,000 Infected.
- Garden Gnome – Unlock the Garden Gnome by rescuing Gnome Chompski.
- Bull Shifters Shirt – Unlock the Bull Shifters shirt by winning 10 games of Versus.
- Left 4 Dead 2 Shirt – Unlock the Left 4 Dead 2 shirt by winning 10 games of Scavenge.
- Zombie Hand Shirt – Unlock the Zombie Hand shirt by killing 10,000 Infected.
- Depeche Mode Shirt – Unlock the Depeche Mode shirt by rescuing Gnome Chompski.
Left 4 Dead 2 will only be the third title to support Avatar Awards so far. Earning new shirts with gaming skill sure beats paying for them with Microsoft points. Reminds me of the halo from PS2′s Amplitude – only for the elite.

Well that’s neat and none of them seem difficult to unlock (maybe a little tedious to kill 10,000 infected though). I’d love this since I’m too cheap to buy any avatar clothing/items but this cannot sway me from the PC L4D2.
I have to admit that I’m very excited about Avatar Awards, but unfortunately I don’t own any of the games yet that include them.

Hey Attila don’t worry it won’t be that bad. On average you should kill about 150 zombies per section, not emphasizing the final, so thats 750 per campaign, and theres five campaigns, so 10 grand wont be too bad.
The original L4D game had an achievement that required over 53,000 kills to unlock it. 10,000 is only a fraction of that and should be achievable within maybe 8-10 hours of campaign playing.

Obviously you haven’t played the game yet you idiot. I would love to see you kill 150 zombies in the first level of a campaign without sitting there and camping for the horde to come. And last I checked, 150 x 4 is 600, not 750. There’s only 4 levels for each campaign not 5. No average player gets 750 kills on a single campaign, that would be well above average for most people. So stop acting like you know what your talking about. And Exochat.com, you will most definately not kill 10,000 in 8 hours of gameplay.
Taylor, there is five campaigns… Now dont start going apeshit cause of that! and 10 grand was REALLY easy, when you got pipebombs and boomervials + skill.
